Title: Fibracol/Prisma - Anyone familiar with this?
Post by: DanaDane on June 01, 2018, 02:07:58 PM
I have two minor areas of separation that after 3weeks don't seem to be healing.  The two areas are very close together (around the vaginal opening).

My doctor is prescribing me Fibracol/Prisma for wound healing.  I'm supposed to cut a small piece and place it on the area(s) at bed time.

Is anyone familiar with this product?

It's a collagen-based dressing, nothing particularly fancy.. It will aid healing.

Is one supposed to "close the wound" then put it on?

I would approximate the wound (close it) before applying the dressing, that's the usual procedure..
