O'Donnell joined the show in 2006, and the media scrutiny started soon after, thanks to her very public war of words with Donald Trump and her calling Kelly Ripa homophobic based on some comments Ripa made about Clay Aiken. And when O'Donnell wasn't making headlines with her political views, she was front-and-center as a lesbian on television, talking matter-of-factly about her wife and their children to an audience of millions.
