Title: Chilean Immigration and Trans Acceptance
Post by: KatieP on June 05, 2018, 01:55:36 PM
Hi All,
(I wasn't sure which subforum was appropriate for this post. My apologies if I have messed up, and would appreciate any re-direction...)

I am traveling to from the US to Chile tomorrow for work. The question is How accepting are Chilean immigration officials?

I do not pass well. And all my documentation says F, and the passport photo is the same one as my avatar photo, without the wig. (The Post Office people made me take it off when I applied for the passport.) I have never had any issues traveling in Europe, or returning to the US, with either male or female presentation with this passport. And, this is my first trip to LatAm, while presenting as female, and I wonder if the acceptance will be as pleasant has it has been in the EU and US.

Does anyone have semi-recent experience with Chilean immigration? Care to share?

Thanks for your experience!

Kate
