I'm not going to type a novel here, as I honestly don't have the energy for it, and there are plenty of others here to read. So here's the skinny:
After 28 years of soul-searching (and denying), I am finally to maybe kind of begin to admit that I might be trans. I have now come out for the first time to my GF, and we both decided that it is critical I find a therapist to talk to. I am in the Jacksonville, FL area, and have so far found the following online:
-Judith A. Asermely -UNF Counseling Center
Does anyone have any experience with either of these people/places (or any others!)? Now that I am at this point, I feel like some first-hand experience would be welcome in making this decision.
Thank you so much for your time!
Hi, welcome to Susan's Place! I don't do nameless well, is there something I can call you? :)
We have transgender friendly providers in our Links Directory. I'll give you the parent category so anyone else reading this can find their state, too.

One more thing.......someone is going to show up and give you a pamphlet........they're a moderator, not a Jehovah's Witness!
See you around the site.
Hugs, Devlyn
Hi there I live in Jacksonville FL too. I'd love to meet you and get to know you. I started by therapy with Dr. Andrew Gauler at FL Counseling. He helped me reach a few milestones but he wants to see you for an extended period of time before he gives a letter for HRT. I am thinking about going to a new therapist for my letter. My Endocrinologist recommended that I see Dr. Noelle Pomeroy. Noelle's did several letters for trans clients to start their meds. I hope this helps. Again I am free most nights and weekends if you'd like to share experiences and learn from each other.
