Yeah I live in a place that still has a mall. I walked from one end to the other and back, nobody gave me a second look. There was a pretzel lady handing out samples, I tried to time it so that she would see me when I walked by and I could see if she called me sir or ma'am. but a family from the other side took her attention, and I didn't want to stick around. This is what I looked like:

Do you think people were perceiving me as male or female?

You look like a ma'am to me.

Female in my opinion but then again I went to the water park today and wore a 2 piece bikini and made sure to buy the matte lipstick that doesn't come off just to insure I was called ma'am lol

AnamethatstartswithE : Absoultely female !!! You look wonderful. You should have NO problems passing wherever you go.
I remember the times that I was just starting out with my attempts at passing and walking around other people... scary but certainly exciting and as time goes on as you press on toward your transition goals you will have even more confidence and self-assurance with your daylight strolls as they become more frequent.
Thanks for posting this, wonderful to hear your report and to see your picture.l
Hugs,

Your long hair and curvy hips definitely look feminine from medium to long distance - people will see a women, from closer up people will study your face because you have a wider jaw than cis females, I would say that with a bit more time as your finesse the subtlety of being femme - you will pass as a female with great bone structure.
I think you look great!! and I think its fantastic that you have the courage to get out there and express yourself.
Take care,
Sonja x
I was out and about in Seattle's Capital Hill yesterday. It gets easier all the time and in the grand scheme of things everyone else has a problem. Not us. We are just being ourselves.
Definitely female! Walking around others is empowering. Just remember to hold you head high and have a friendly face. (no frowns). You're doing fine!

Great advice! - also DawnOday - your avatar pic look gorgeous!! well done you x
Sonja.
Hope you don't mind me replying, a questioning, maybe ftm maybe nb, but I do like to support our sisters here.
Oh I think you look lovely! Definitely feminine, you've got some wow curves going on there. I think your hair really suits you too.
Perhaps close up there could be a slight facial hair shadow but I think that in passing out and about that wouldn't be obvious. At a casual glance I wouldn't doubt you were a woman at all.
Weird, in your photo in your post your face shape reminds me own a little bit.
But I think you wear it better ;-)
Between that and the hair you really remind me someone (an actress I think) but I can't quite remember who. Oh oh, okay not the same chin shape but your eyes and smile make me think of a young Clare Danes in her R&J days.
Glad it was a good experience at the mall, pity about the pretzel lady but maybe something similar another time?
Honestly don't see any prospect of a anyone thinking that you're anything but female. Most people will look at someone, and form a snap impression of gender. Unless there is something fairly obvious, most people won't change from that snap impression. With you I see nothing to put anyone's doubt in their minds!
Em x
Thanks Sonja. Lighting makes all the difference ;D A two mp camera and intense lighting and voila. No wrinkles. With each new experience it gets easier and easier. I;ll be out and about tonight at Rainbow Center and having dinner afterwords with my new friends.

I think that from a distance or if it's just a short glance you would pass as your shape appears feminine. That being said your face does still have masculine features and if I was face to face with you I would probably wonder, but I don't think I would assume male. Your body passes, your face not quite yet to me. I think the people in the mall probably viewed you as female though.
I think you are beautiful, and walking/acting confident help a lot. As does some lipstick ;D
IMO - DEFINITELY female. It's a good feeling isn't it? :)
