Title: Some worries about a cough and wanting to start voice training...
Post by: Amaki on June 09, 2018, 10:59:03 AM
ok so I dont always have this cough but it picks up when my allergies do, anyone have any home remedies or know of anything that can help (I dont believe I have any scar tissue so) Im worried, I plan to get some ginger because that seemed to help in the past but anything else might help too lol

And my second question does anyone know where I can find material online that can help me learn (or 'study') at home voice training (should I just suck it up and wait till I get a voice therapist?) just wondering I know everyone is different and what works for one might not work for me... I have seriously looked into the surgery but it seems like it might be a bit much (not price wise Im sure I could get it through the VA but ). Anyway lol Thank you all in advance

If you have a persistent cough, that is a cough lasting more than 4 weeks, go and see a medic and preferably an ENT specialist to get a look down your throat and to check your breathing. It is almost certainly just a cough but it can be something that requires attention. Leaving it to just go away may not be a good idea.

my mom swears its just my medication, but I intend to make sure my doctor knows whats going on and if it is my medication I want to get it changed but yeah its not always there (or maybe I just have good days I dont notice it as much) yeah I'll start keeping track and writing down when I notice it.

So yeah Miss Cindy I believe it to be my medicine now that I've had a day to think about it (I have it more or less only in the morning and by the end its gone with a bit of allergies) still I guess I'll try hot tea's and what not to see. Still looking around for good voice training  (took a lot from the forums already)
