Hello, this is Jesslyn Jennifer from the North Coast. I just wanted to make my first post, and tell you a little about myself. I'm six months away from turning 40, and my female side has always been hindered by insecurity and doubt. I was also diagnosed with Schizophrenia in 1996; and that has been a struggle all by itself. I've kept fighting to keep going, even as darker times continued on for what seemed like an eternity.
I've been sober since October 7, 2016. Ever since then, my thoughts have been a little less clouded, but I still deal with many uncertainties. But after all of this, I've gotten stronger. I suppose it's not what obstacles we have to face in life that define us, it's how we deal with them and ultimately overcome them.
Have a great day!
JJ
Hi there, JJ!
Welcome to Susan's Place. You're in the best place around for those of us learning about and working through the type of issues you mention.
Congratulations on staying strong through your schizophrenia, and getting and staying sober! With those battles controlled, you've developed the tools to handle anything that comes up.
As an official greeter, allow me to introduce you to the Official Terms of Service for Susan's Place. They outline for you the privileges and requirements for this site. Give them a read and I think you'll find them helpful.
Again, welcome! We all hope you join in and enjoy the benefits the site offers!

Greetings and welcome, Jesslyn!
That's incredible that surviving with Schizophrenia. I truly hope you're doing alright. ANd I'm so glad you've decided to join Susans and rely on this community for guidance, support, and friendship! ^_^
I do not think I have Schizophrenia(sending you a DM, btw) but I, too, felt like my feminine side was just trapped or ignored or doubted. There are going to be many obstacles in your way soon enough, dear, but you've already conquered the first one! And with the knowledge provided by this community, and their personal support to you, I am confident you'll overcome every single one! *hugs*
Much Love,
Eryn
I'll just stop in real quick to say "Hi" and welcome. I'm new too! Signed up myself as this seems like a great site for all kinds of news and support we may otherwise have to fish for on-line. Hope to see ya around!
<3,
Erin
Thank you all so much for the warm welcome. It's good to know that I'm not alone in any challenges I might face. I struggle at times with simple, everyday tasks that most people take for granted, and I can be my own worst enemy when it comes to moving forward. But I'll keep making strides in the right direction.
