I didn't expect to be attracted to this kind of clothes, but I am. I'm nearing 48, and think it would look weird for a 48 yr old woman to wear these things. However, I want to be a girly girl. Is there a style for older girly girls? What do you think of this type of fashion and older ladies?

I would try to avoid it. Heck I'm 29 and I avoid it. I think all women (cis and trans) attract unwanted attention when they don't dress they're age and it mostly has the opposite effect, instead of looking younger it actually ages you.
That being said, this process is for all of us to do what makes us happy and comfortable so just do whatever you want :)

A blue perm and sweaters in August age you. Sparklies, not so much! ;D

I honestly wear whatever feels good that day to me I love anything pink right now it's a pair of short shorts a pink microfiber shirt and some girly sunglasses lol i really don't care what others think of how I dress because what I'm wearing makes me happy. Btw the more shine the better lol

I love sparkles and pearlescent stuff, but there's a time and place. I dress smart(ish) for the office, and might treat myself a bit at the weekend. There are some quite nice sophisticated tops that have some metallic thread through them for a bit of fun [emoji5]

I like girly stuff as much as the next pubescent teen, but I do try to keep my appearance age-appropriate. Covering myself in sparkles and Hello Kitty decals or wearing skirts with hemlines 6" above the knee would attract the kind of attention I want to avoid. I have nothing against drag queens, but I don't want to look like one.
I like floral prints and paisleys, and swishy but longer skirts. I do have one cardigan that has sparkles, but it is otherwise plain gray. I'll wear tops with lacy necklines, or let a bit of a lacy camisole peek out a low neckline. I like some bling in my jewelry, so I'll wear sparkly earrings or neckaces.
When I say "age-appropriate", I don't necessarily mean my chronological age. I don't want to look like a 63-year-old matron. I'll settle for middle-aged. So I aim for a style that a 40-year-old woman might wear when she wants to make a good impression. I always dress a bit upscale for the circumstances without looking implausible. I might wear a skirt with a floral print for grocery shopping, for example, when most women are wearing jeans or yoga pants. It's not over-the-top, but it is at the upper end of what is considered appropriate.
At the theatre (we like live community theatre), I ramp it up a couple of notches. I have all those nice clothes in the closet, and that is my chance to show them off. Yes, I do attract a bit of attention, because most audience members don't dress up. But it's not outrageous: something that you might wear to a Broadway play instead of a local one.
If the weather is such that pants are necessary (winter, for example), I wear skinny jeans and a fancier top. Something in my outfit is always eye-catching: either a pattern, a colour, the texture or cut of the fabric, or some glittery jewelry.
This way, I get to indulge my girliness and show off a bit, without attracting negative attention.
Depends upon where I am going. At the office I tend to to be more smart. Out in the town can be more girly. Out on the town can be borderline slutty. At home all bets are off.
I usually only use one young girl thing at a time, not the whole outfit. I may have fairy themed barrettes with a grey skirt and white shirt. My skirts are mostly mid-thigh, my shorts are just that, short.
And I like a bit of pink, often as an accent color.

When I was still him every one thought I was younger (10 years !!!) so why not , nice jewellery smart clothes and a bit of bling in the right places.

Wear what you feel comfortable in and if that means dressing your age, over your age or less than your age, then have at it. Keep in mind though, at some level, it will draw more attention, but for many, that is a good thing.
Fashion sense is merely a consensus and not rules. Personally, i am not crazy about very girlie stuff like big flower prints, rhinestones, bows etc but I like it on other people. I do wear fairly short and body conforming dresses though at times and lots of boots and (gasp) even hair tails and little buns.
Today I am in fairly short shorts, combat boots, boot socks a see-through flowered t-shirt with a bralette underneath. My hair is in a high pony. Probably not really my age but i'm loving it anyways.
There is a way that the look is age appropriate. Look at country western wear. Day to day wear is pretty plain with jeans, flannel shirt and rough out boot but dress up wear can be describe as glitter and rhinestones with different patterns. Arizona still has western wear shops where you might find items that match that description. Often it's used for a night out on the town or for western events.
I think that anything looks appropriate on aprons, regardless of age. Even when you are an old "granny", a frilly pink apron decorated with a unicorn would be entirely suitable.
What about mermaids? Why do mermaids always get forgotten about?
I don't go full glitter or anything but I do wear some stuff. Mainly earrings or shirts. My spouse got me a Tinkerbell shirt in rainbow colors and I love wearing it. It helps that it is so comfortable as well. I have other things that I just haven't felt comfortable wearing yet like some shiny mermaid leggings.
Oh and narwhals are cool.

This pinkish-gold metallic isn't currently available so I just bought last year's model. I would have never imagined placing more importance on appearance vs. processor speed before - but different things matter to me now.

I am a really girly girl, I am into shoes, clothes and make-up.. I love wearing skirts or dresses (I love short skirts)... and love painting my nails and making myself look pretty, i love the sexy look, (not slutty), although in my single days on a night out, i have worn some close to slutty dresses.. I love dressing up and going out with my man
but this girly girl does not like pink.. I own almost no clothes that are pink... in the beginning it was no pink at all.. but over time I will tolerate a pink bow on a bra... This included pink nail polish, however after being introduced to it, by my bff, I do like to wear from time to time a dusty pink nail polish on my toe nails.
I'm a simple person in boy or girl mode. I prefer light makeup, natural cotton tops and jeans or shorts and flip flops with rhinestones ;)
I can't say that I am a huge fan of the sparkles and unicorns, but I'm of the mind that you could pull it off rather easily in moderation. Pick one piece of sparkle at a time and coordinate it with some more basic pieces and you'd be fine by today's standards. My personal school of thought is to not do anything half ass'd... do it 100% or not at all. Dress for yourself and own it!
**Remember this comes from a gal that usually goes full bore on her attire out of the gate, and sometimes gets mistaken for going to a costume ball 🙈🙊🙉. But I have never been told that I look anything less than amazing... So take it with a grain of salt.
