Hi,

I'm not sure having the featured child board "non-transitioning and detransitioning" sets a particularly positive tone for the forum. Obviously, this is an issue which is important to some users, but does that warrant it's own specific (relatively large) space on the site?

In my opinion, sensationalising detransitioning in that manner only enforces certain fear-mongering narratives that have been used to oppose the transgender community.

@anastasialea    We have the "Child Boards" on the Forums along with an entire "Youth Talk" section for our younger members to more easily allow them to communicate with like-minded members of similar age and experience.  That area of the Forums is heavenly moderated and kept a close eye on by the Forums Staff and Moderators.... obviously for the safety of our underage members.   There are no restrictions for those younger members to participate in the "regular" Forums if they choose to do so, and many of them do.

By the way, non-transitioning and detransitioning is a much talked about topic for adult transitioners too...  and is an important subject of interest to those that are just considering or have just started their transition journey.

There are many other topics and threads in the Youth Talk area that might cause many of us older members to blush... so, please know that our younger members are not cordoned off into some kind of enclave run by nuns.

Please if you have further questions about the Susan's Place site and Forums always feel free to pose your thoughts.
Thank you for your posting.

Hugs and well wishes,
Danielle

Giving people a place to discuss their issues is hardly sensationalizing.  :)
