Title: Non Medical Transition.
Post by: JMJW on July 02, 2018, 08:46:59 PM
Has anyone tried or is intending to try a full time non medical transition? I'm considering it, so I'm interested in the experiences of others.

I was living full time female with a name change and no plans of medically transitioning. Getting insurance laid the groundwork for HRT, which led to an orchi. But I was  pretty darn happy just socially transitioning. Hope this helps.

I know a few who have done this on a long term basis. And I too went full-time a few months before starting HRT.

I can echo Devlyn, that the mental health benefits of doing that were as good or better than HRT. X

I went a bit over month before HRT full time. It had good effects for mental health, but I could have not continued that for long, as seeing the body turning into an old man body was causing extreme anxiety in any case. One of things that finaly did push me to transition.

Honestly I was wondering just that.. how someone would cope seeing that in the mirror.  I'm sure some people do it just fine, or come to terms with it.  Wasn't really something I could or would have done however.  To each their own, and I'm not one to nay say anyone elses choices :)   Or at least try my best not to.
