Title: Therapy, baby step, and almost coming out
Post by: Danielle Kristina on July 02, 2018, 10:46:45 PM
I had another therapy session today and it didn't seem like it took an hour, but it did.  I remember how scared I was about going to my first gender therapy session, but now I look forward to them!  Afterward, I got my other ear pierced.  My left ear was pierced almost 20 years ago, but today I finally got the courage to pierce the right.  My transition from MtF is slow, but that's ok.  I'm taking it one day at a time, one baby step at a time.

Tonight I had dinner with a friend who is transgender.  I still present as male (in public) and haven't come out to anyone.  I told her that I had therapy today and when she asked me what kind of therapy, I couldn't work up the nerve to tell her it was gender therapy and that I'm trans too.  Aside from my therapist, nobody knows.  I wanted to come out to her, but fear took over and I couldn't even come out trans to someone who is transgender themselves!

So it's been a roller coaster of a day.  Up and down!

Like you saying says:  One step at a time, one day at a time.  Don't rush anything if your not ready.  There is no perfect time and no set schedule.

Good luck on the journey,

Julie

Take your time, there's no rush, and this is not a race.  You got your ear pierced, and maybe that was enough for you for today.  the time will come when you can confide in your friend, and I'm sure she'll welcome you with open arms!
