Title: Surgery
Post by: Brigitte on July 26, 2018, 06:20:59 AM
Hello,

first I have to apologize for my bad English - sorry but ist not my mother language, but I will do the best I can.

Maybe its a strange Question ... but how is ones bladder ability after the surgery?

Can I wait as long as I could do before or are there some changes normally?

I dont think about the first time after surgery, its obvious that it takes time for being normally again. I thought when everything has stabilisized again ...

Thank you very much and best regards from Austria.

Brigitte

Hi, Brigitte!

Welcome to Susan's.

I am sorry that I cannot answer your question, being pre-op myself.  I do not believe the bladder capacity is changed, but I am sure someone more qualified can give you a better answer.

Hi Brigitte,
One thing I've learned over the years is that when it comes to any surgical procedure, results vary from person to person.  Personally, I had no trouble at all controlling my bladder once the catheter was removed.  The flow was a bit slower than usual, and the stream annoyingly wandered around due to the swelling that existed post-op, but those problems cleared up in a couple of weeks.  The bladder control sphincter muscle is associated with the prostate gland which is not removed during GRS.  If you have good bladder control before GRS, you shouldn't experience problems afterward.  But, again, there are no guarantee.  I have heard of some girls finding it very hard to urinate following catheter removal, probably due to swelling, but I think that's rare.

Hi Rachel,

"much better" means ... faster?, holding longer? ... or what did you wat to say?

Best regards
