Title: The joys of being TG
Post by: warlockmaker on August 05, 2018, 10:24:29 PM

I like  promoting positives admist all the negatives on being TG, so here are some of my positives. Mine are on the mtf view and ftm can add a few:

I dont have to shave everday

People open doors for me and carry my heavy bags

I get treated to drinks and meals

Ladies night at clubs and bars

As a feminist I really ought to object to the stereotypes but I enjoy them too.  It's the little things that happen more often, like the man who was at the bus stop before me stepping back so I can get on first.  I get compliments on my outfit and my style now too.

It's a pretty big FU to society here in the US and I get to be soft and dainty all the while. [emoji4] it's pretty liberating when guys check me out and even want me but I turn them down. Especially because people tend to think because I'm trans I'm an easy lay. Well no actually.
Also being able to wear literally anything I want and starting to feel comfortable. If I choose to be butch I can and if I choose to be slutty I can too. I did before hrt but estrogen does help in my case.

@warlockmaker
The joy of being TG for me is finding inner strength and conviction.

I love seeing other TG people with these same traits, they seem to me to be so delicate and so strong at the same time.

I think its a huge positive in a world that makes people doubt themselves, that people find themselves as well, even when finding yourself means difficult decisions ahead.

Sonja.

For me the joy of being TG is finding authenticity. Unlike a transitioner who is headed for the goal of being the opposite gender to the one assigned at birth, I AM transgender. I'm not going to emerge on the other side fully transitioned, I'll always be a blend of male and female. To me that is the essence of TG.

I'm not journeying through this land, it's where I live.  :)

Hugs, Devlyn

I remember the "Joy of Cooking" book my mom had around the house when I was a child. I suppose I'm cooking now, with adding a little HRT here, a little make-up there, a little spice (short skirt) here and there ... :)

My joy is cooking up this mysterious and wonderful me!  :icon_chick:

Being ando has many benefits. Now I can present as either at will, but that will soon change.

The discounts I receive on goods and services just for being Trans; "that will be $233.33 ma'am", "oh, I forgot to mention I'm Trans, could you apply my discount please?". "Most certainly, I would be happy to do that for you; so, with your Trans discount it comes to $233.33."😀

I could have saved 15% on my transurance by switching to Geico!  ;D

I know; I called for a quote last week, and that 15% would put 15k in my pocket every 6 months, so I'm seriously considering it, especially with that $1,000,000.00 deductible they're offering!

Substantial reduction in depression.

Gaining confidence.

Removal of the mask - no longer having to play the actress.

Emotions! The ups and the downs, I literally love 'em [emoji4]. Having them and even better, being allowed and even expected to show them. X

People, especially women, treat me as a kind of celebrity.

I suppose I would say that I enjoy being part of the transgender and queer community, and I see that as a benefit. This community, more than my family, showed me what it means to love someone unconditionally. There's a camaraderie there that I had longed for my whole life to only have now found.

I also have mixed feelings about this one, but I'm somewhat glad that I don't have female bottom genitalia. They are quite complicated and inconvenient compared to male, and I never wanted to be able to give birth... but on the other hand, I do experience a good deal of dysphoria from my own anatomy. Lesser of two evils, in my opinion.
