Title: Waxing
Post by: Jessica on August 14, 2018, 02:58:22 PM
Hi girls 🙋‍♀️ As we find the steps we take, some slow some fast, one may be the need to be rid of that fur!  I reached that point when Summertime fun dictated short or no sleeve tops and short shorts!  Who wants to see fuzzy arms or legs?!
I had been dabbling with epilating, but there was always those strays that needed tweezing and found only in the right light.
Shaving is an endless chore!
What's quick and effective??  Waxing!
Yes, I know that waxing, tweezing and epilating can deform the roots lessening the effectiveness of electrolysis as the probe may need to follow a crooked path.
But, my body hair is lessening and eventually I hope it will just be replaced by vellus hairs.

I tried it this morning with my running gal pal at the salon we go to.
Loved it, painless for me since I had epilated before...but I had never touched my pits!
That was not pain free...yow!

Smooth, smooth, smooth!

Anyone else enjoy this feminine ritual?

Hugs and smiles, Jessica 🌸🌸🌸

@Jessica

Hi Jessica,  I was doing IPL on my legs a few weeks ago and I had this strong sadness come over me and I thought - but if the hairs do all disappear  -I won't get to shave my legs anymore...something I've only gotten to enjoy for the last 18 months. And yes while it can be a chore to do and a pain to keep ingrown hairs under control its still something I like doing, I suppose its part of the feminine grooming ritual I've come to love.

I'm sure at some point in the future I'll be over shaving for good, but I love going though the motions at the moment. (because IPL has not got id of all of it -still a ways to go, but there are some areas where the hair is clearly not coming back at all - I think this is probably what got me thinking)

Sonja.

I see your point, shaving my legs is therapeutic, but not my arms!
Must make hair on arms go away!
Thank God my back isn't afflicted with that nasty stuff.

I remember getting my legs waxed many many years ago. I didn't think that the pain was that bad. I sure enjoyed the feeling of smooth legs however. I started shaving everything below my eyebrows shortly thereafter. I was using an epilator in my legs and arms/hands but kept getting ingrown hairs everywhere no matter what I did.

A few months ago I bought an IPL device and have already noticed less hair on my hands and legs. Now that I'm on Spiro, I'm sure that what is left will diminish.

I have tried waxing but I found it quite messy and when my wife did my back it was very painful as she pulled the sheets off at 90 degrees and
S L O W L Y! Ouch!  I actually like waxing my legs but have not done for a while now, I just shave them.  I tried the hair removal creams but they smell awful and have the same effects as shaving so a bit pointless for me although if I'm doing my legs top to bottom it is quicker than shaving.

Arms, hands, chest and tummy I epilate.

The only thing I wax is my eyebrows., It's not too bad.
I epilate my legs from time to time, but most of the time I shave them.
I'm lucky I have no body hair or arm hair. My arm pits are two times less dense than my gf.
And my upper thighs have very little either.
It's funny cause I am dark haired, so probably would have expected to be hairy :S
For me that always made me wonder is there something more to me feeling like a girl? Maybe it's pure luck though.
I do love the ritual in the shower doing my legs though, and face masks n whatnot :')

I am still in the process of perfecting my beauty ritual for expedience.  As I learn new stuff, it evolves.  Sometimes I forget things too.  I spaced out and didn't shave my face before laser yesterday...  thank god for BIC shave kits at the gas station.  As for body hair, according to my electrologist, I have little body hair.  And what is there is so fine that you need to be right up next to it in order to see.   ::)
