I thought I ought to introduce myself first - so here goes.
I am in my late 60's and live in SE England.
I have been crossdressing to some degree since my early teens. It all started with my elder sister's bras and panties - I was hooked! For the majority of my life I have only been able to dress when the opportunity arose, as I have never been out to family and friends.
I retired a few years ago and these days I can spend the majority of the time dressed as a woman. I don't think I would ever pass as female - and I have no intention of trying - but I definitely consider myself to be gender fluid and tend to push the boundaries of what it accepted as traditionally male attire.
I have been on medication for my enlarged prostate for a number of years, and that appears to have prompted some breast growth (currently a 38B). Recently I have been prescribed Finasteride in addition to what I had been taking and I am hoping that there might be some further growth - a C or D cup would be wonderful!
Well that just about sums me up, but I'm sure there is plenty more I will think of later.

Now a question.
How do I change my display name? I registered with the username Sashauk but for some reason all I get as a display name is Ssuk.
I have looked at the help section to see how to do this - "Change the text in the field Name and then click on Change profile at the bottom of the page in order to save".
But when I go to my profile to change it the area where my display name is shown it is uneditable - the only things I can change are my email address and password.
Also I can't see anywhere I can enter my gender or age.
Any help gratefully received.

Hi Sashauk
Im in the E Mids (its still part of the UK..)
Welcome from a fellow UK girl. Im 56, you can read my story elsewhere, but believe me this forum can answer any question you have, just make sure you realise that NHS timeline is different to US/Canada by a long way, money or not and apply that to any answers in those areas..
I am happy to know that your are well in yourself, and indeed seem to be relishing your physical changes.
Whatever journey you take from here is up to you, but believe me this forum has a very wide footprint (subject to TOS/TOU as posted by my friends Danielle and VM, who are Guru's on content here - there are a lot of others as well as we are passionate that our journeys need to be happy informative and eventful).
Keep asking questions but also search the forums as there are a lot of us girls out there and millions of posts.
Luv n Hugz

Firstly thank you for the warm welcome - I'm sure I will enjoy visiting here.
And thank you too for the link - I will check it out. Saying that I notice that my display name has now changed to the one I chose, so perhaps it was something my end that was not displaying correctly.

Hi Katie,
Thank you for the welcome.
I am a member of other forums and the difference between the UK and North America in the support for trans people is often commented upon.
I have found a private service here in the UK that say they would be happy to help me with prescriptions for medication if I decide I want to go down that route. It's all very legitimate and they would work closely with my GP to monitor my progress. It's a shame that trying to do this through the NHS is such a long and torturous process - but I suppose it all comes down to financing in the end.
I'm looking forward to reading peoples stories and becoming part of the community.

Dear Sashauk,
FYI I am with a private service as well, and find the funding can be not out of reach once a shared care agreement is reached between the Practice and your GP. PM me if you want to discuss further..
