Title: Why do people buy bigger dilators?
Post by: Emily.coates on August 22, 2018, 02:08:16 AM
I'm a Chettawut girl (3 1/2 months) and I often hear people here talking about Soul Source dilators, because they are bigger than the #4 Chett gives us.

I was wondering why people want bigger dilators? I've had sex a few times now and haven't had any girth related problems so I'm interested to hear people's experiences!

Thanks x

My surgeon just gave us the 4 piece soul source set, told me to start with the blue one and work my way up to the orange one (biggest in the 4 piece set). I personally have doubts about the large ones, which I haven't worked my way up to because, well the only penis I have any interest in is only about the same size as the smallest one.

And it will feel different to a properly stretched neo-vagina.. There's a reason your surgeon advised on dilating the way they did and it's not all about penis size - the vagina isn't really a smooth tube..

The most common complication trans women have is a vagina that is too small or too short for intercourse. The variety of sizes with the Soul Source dilators gives us the option of stretching our vaginas as we wish.

Remember, men come in all sizes!  :eusa_doh:

Have yet to try out with men, but overstretching May loosen the skin no?
Believe the intercourse is more about the tightness (of course reasonably tight) to provide pleasure? Depth well is another thing altogether.

If you don't have enough width being penetrated can be VERY painful from what I have heard... I know personally using a larger width dilator than usual can get Very painful and bloody and that I have been told happens with unusually large human dilators too!

BTW what is the diameter of the largest dilators SRS surgeons give out these days?

I had SRS 20 years ago with Meltzer... The biggest dilator in the set I got from his was  1 3/8".

I heard other surgeons were providing 1.5" diameter dilators so I got one that size from the now defunct "intelligent Engineering". Moving up hurt!!!

1.5" should be the largest size of Soul Source so that would be the biggest one I was givien.

Dr Meltzer now has an optional #5 dilator which is about 1 5/8". Unless you know your partner is larger than normal, you don't need to request it. Before surgery I was 1.5" so my doctor told me I should get a dilator that matched that dimension and I did.

So I understand that one can know before the surgery the width of one's future neo vagina. How is that possible?
