Title: Soft tissue work post-ffs
Post by: Meena on August 30, 2018, 09:23:10 AM
Hello all,

A little background I am someone who transitioned eons ago- 24 years post GCS to be exact :) I have been quite happy with my appearance but about 2 years ago I seriously started researching having forehead work done. I think the combination of age and just wanting something new caught up with me. So a year ago I opted to have forehead contouring and hair transplants with the wonderful team at Facial Team. The experience was almost perfect apart from one or two things which were not within their control. I am extremely happy with the results and it was worth every penny.

I am now at a point where I want to start looking at some other modifications/ improvements. I am mainly after some soft tissue work- facelift, eyelift, revision rhinoplasty and maybe cheek implants- and in that spirit I am looking for suggestions for surgeons in Europe or the US. I know that Dr. Bellinga at FT has a near cult following but I have read some critiques which have been less than flattering. He is on my list but I am wondering whether there are others who are any good at soft tissue work on transgender patients. I also am not against spreading my money around a bit quite frankly. The country I live in has no surgeons with experience in operating on transgender surgeons as far as I can tell.

Another surgeon my list is Dr. Mardirossian from Florida- have seen some good work by him but maybe he is a bit conservatie in his results?

Tips? Thoughts?

A good reputable board certified plastic surgeon should be able to do the soft tissue procedures, however, I prefer to have all of my procedures done by a top notch FFS surgeon, because in my opinion their surgical skills, philosophy, and protocols are better aligned with my needs.

I would look into Dr Norman Van Den Dussen. He is amazing with facelifts and nose jobs. I think he is one of the best for nose jobs in Europe. He is also pioneer of FFS but for some reason he is not very popular at susans. I have had a lot of soft tissue work done by Dr Mayer. He is very good. I highly recommend him. Cardenas is very good with noses. Not sure about facelifts. Facial team are very good, some people complain about the noses but most of the results I have seen are good. Not sure about facelifts though.  I hope this helps

He does? I've only ever heard a few "critiques" about him, nothing much else. I'm quite interested, where's the positive posts?

I'm very happy with mine (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,230933.80.html).   :)

Anyone have any thoughts/ experiences regarding Dr. Mardirossian in Florida? I do find some of his work intriguing but can't find much about him- certainly very little on Realself.
