Title: Free Transgender makeup classes
Post by: DawnOday on September 12, 2018, 03:50:02 AM
I have a date for thursday 9/13/18 at Sephora for a 90 minute makeup session. Here is a brief description. Check the location near you. My session is in Tacoma.

Beauty retailer Sephora is launching complimentary makeup classes across the U.S. specifically geared toward transgender and gender-nonbinary individuals. The company recently announced it would introduce a class called "Bold Beauty for the Transgender Community" to its current slate of makeup programming. Beginning in June, each 90-minute session will feature personalized skincare advice, application techniques and complexion tips designed for "clients of all gender expressions," according to a company press release

You'll have a great time.  I did one similar at MAC last year and it was so helpful ☺️

I have tried to get into one of these classes a few times. Even though I have multiple Sephora close by, not one of them offered this specific class. Closest I could find was 350 miles away. I guess I have to try again... They offer other classes I may just sign up for.

Hugs,

Sarah

Try calling Corporate Customer Service and asking about a class near you.  We had the Walnut Creek downtown store added to the class schedule, with a trainer coming in from Corporate to work with local staff for the first classes.

Just checked their site. Isn't there makeup really expensive?

Moni. Yes they operate on the higher end but so does Ulta. But these courses are free and there is nothing mentioned about minimum purchases.

Michelle P. They have an opening in Burlingame on Sunday the 23.of Sept.

Hello again Charlotte

We both know MAC operate all over the UK; I can visit my nearest in Liverpool and I know you are an Essex girl. However I was not aware they did free classes; I have plenty of makeup at my house but I still require a class for practice. I assume you are saying that occasionally they have an offer on such that they do free classes all over the UK? If by chance you see another offer for free classes, perhaps you could let me know please? I will do the same for you if I spot one. Thank you. Afterwards, I would happily purchase some items of course.

On a separate matter I hope you have a good day on Saturday 22nd at the UK Meet Up in Birmingham. Unfortunately I cannot attend as I am on holiday in Slovenia. If there is another event in September 2019, I expect to attend and I expect to be fulltime public by then. I am 7 months HRT and recently started BHR (Body Hair Removal).

Hugs

Pamela

Hi Pamela

I just went to their website and then through that you can book a tutorial at a convenient local store.  They have various ones to choose from.  They do expect you to buy some of their products but I can't remember how much they ask you to spend so I suppose it's not totally free but it wasn't very much considering that I was in there for the whole morning

They are really trans friendly as a company and the customers that came in to the Carnaby Street store weren't in the slightest bit bothered/interested by me even though I went in full boy mode!  Also, if you sign up to their mailing list you will also receive occasional offers for a totally free lesson - I had such an offer just a week or so ago

I hope there is another chance to meet you - fingers crossed for next year!

Hi everybody. I attended the class today at Sephora It was fun free and had some nice samples. When speaking to the facilitator who had just came up from Northern Cali. part of the problem is that when they schedule nobody shows up. So basically now they do it wherever they get a number of requests. We had four today including myself. I can give you her name and number and perhaps she can set one up for you, or give you the name of the facilitator in your area.

Interesting. I read the original announcement as being only in June. Was I the only one? I was kind of busy back in June so maybe didn't look at it that closely.

The story and interview on Google was from June 6, 2018 but appears to still be running. There is a class in Burlingame CA on the 23 of August and One in Soho NY on Aug. 31. I'm sure there are others but they don't make finding out to easy.
