Hello there! Name's Alyssa!
Or at least that's what it will be... not my legal name yet! :P
I'm fairly new to the trans community, since coming out of my ignorance toward gender identity... during my childhood up until late 20's... I'm 28 right now and only just learned that HRT and SRS were a thing at 27. Recently started dressing female, wearing makeup and also practicing my voice towards feminizing myself and feeling super hyped about it! Peers at work that know I'm trans have noticed a brightening of my mood ever since I've started ''coming out'' as a transwoman.
Very positive about the future, that I am!! But... my past wasn't that positive... er... very dark and sad indeed...
I always knew I was different, and more inclined towards feminine things and activities, so much that it had attracted bullies during my childhood. I had to learn to be masculine... even if I disliked it to go on through life. Sealing away my feminine identity almost proved to be fatal with depression and suicidal ideology... Nobody knew i had a set to hang myself... not even my parents.
Always sported long hair and no beard (I had a mental meltdown when I started having body hair), the only times I had cut my hair were to get a job... had to cover mirrors at home 'cause I hated seeing myself with short, masculine haircuts... gender dysphoria at it's best... :'(
Nowadays I work at a GM yogurt industry... it's been 3 years already! Loving the people there! Also, after coming out some of my colleagues (most of them female) have told me they had a relative who has had transitioned, and supporting me in my quest to transition and practice being female again. It feels so great to be supported that way!
But...
Requesting HRT doesn't seem easy at all! Especially since my GP has retired so I have to wait for a new one... Let alone SRS, especially in Canada... Seems like everywhere have months of waiting to just get an appointment... it's scary! Closest landmark city is Montreal... but still... the wait times... Ugh! I don't know what to do anymore! ???
Budget is a non-issue but I'd like to be full-time female sooner than later! >:(
Well at least there's the GRC there with specialized SRS surgeons. That's one good thing at least! ;)
... that aside, I'm glad to have found Susan's transgender community, I already feel like it's going to be family. :D
Here's a preview of how I look when dressed and wearing makeup! https://scontent.fymy1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/40421317_117505362533227_1451672965790826496_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=ef5269a7d50f81164bc1744c76f815aa&oe=5C30868B (https://scontent.fymy1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/40421317_117505362533227_1451672965790826496_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=ef5269a7d50f81164bc1744c76f815aa&oe=5C30868B)
Do note I'm wearing silicone breasts... These are 36D, otherwise I'm 36AA obviously! :P

Hi! I'm just a bit younger than you and only recently came around to fully realizing I might be happier if I transitioned as well. You look really good in your picture!
Thank you everyone!! Your words of encouragement means a lot to me! ^-^
Just woke up for another weekend night, indulging myself with butterscotch flavored coffee and browsing through the forum rules and guidelines posted here. ;)
The night is young! Oh... I do live the night 'cause night shift work and I like it more than daytime work. You can label me a vampire I suppose! >:-) :P

When had to work occasionally at night, I was a zombie the next day!
The trick is to sleep at day when living during the night. I hold no interest in brains!
I prefer my blood- er I mean tomato juice!
Teehee! :P
hi Alyssa :)
Your excitement and happiness is wonderful, and nice picture! :)
back 2 or 3 weeks ago I thought I would wait for 3 or 4 months before starting HRT. I'm really glad I was feeling impatient and tried to setup a dr appointment, because yeah, at the LGBT clinic here there is a 3 month wait for the first appointment for me as well.
I think I knew, before my "awakening", that transitioning was something people did, but I never really knew that I could do that or that it was an option for me... if you know what I mean. I felt so alone, so... alien, before the awakening (not sure what to call it so thats what i'm going with lol.... ) I kinda took it from Brene Brown (okay, totally took it from her). A book of hers is really hitting home.. its not specific to trans but still a good psychological assistance type of book: https://www.amazon.com/Gifts-Imperfection-Think-Supposed-Embrace-ebook/dp/B00BS03LL6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1537160244&sr=8-5&keywords=brene+brown (https://www.amazon.com/Gifts-Imperfection-Think-Supposed-Embrace-ebook/dp/B00BS03LL6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1537160244&sr=8-5&keywords=brene+brown)
