I'm from Canada, Quebec, with the closest known city being Montreal... I'd like to start a request for MtF HRT (and eventually SRS) but...
My family doctor/GP retired, leaving me without one... and wait time is 490+ days... I don't feel like waiting that long! >:(
Is there any transgender friendly clinics around Montreal that accepts new patients without a family doc? I have to admit I'm quite confused about the whole health care system... never had to visit healthcare once in my life, thanks to being healthy and careful! ...until now... ??? It's scary! :-\
Budget is a non-issue on my side! I'd rather pay upfront than wait months personally!
Any hints on where I should start? Anything really!! :)
Can you cross into the us? If your willing to drive, consider Burlington Vermont. I would be surprised if the wait is anywhere that long.

I wish I could. Unfortunately I don't have a vehicle for personal reasons, namely saving up for surgeries!
Thanks though! ;)
Contact a local LGBT organization. There will be at least one in Montreal, maybe more. One of them will be able to point you towards a gender therapist. That is the normal starting place for the process.
It sounds like you know who you are and what you want, so it may be that you will not need the therapist for any significant length of time. But you will most likely need a letter from them referring you to a doctor for HRT. The therapist will likely be able to help you find a doctor to write you the prescription.
I have a regular GP for routine medical stuff, which I don't need a lot of, because I am generally healthy like you. I go to a different doctor for my HRT, one who specializes in trans health care, and therefore has the expertise to monitor my blood hormone levels.
Oh wow, I haven't thought of seeking out LGBT communities... turns out there's one right in the city I live and they have a PDF containing everything a transwoman needs to know! And the info is not lost in a ton of legal mumbo jumbo either! :)
I will try contacting them tomorrow morning before my sleep schedule. Can't wait!
Many thanks, sister! :-*
Yay! Glad I could help!
Update on this!
I've contacted the LGBT+ community in my home city, I'll be meeting new trans friends soon, and also the reception felt very warm, welcoming. Met the receptionist, a very helpful young woman she were! Helped me target some known specialist... With that, I've finally got one with a psychotherapist/sexologist that diagnoses LGBT+ patients! It's a private doc, so less wait time! :D
I did end up talky talky with her about my life for a good hour. Time flew so fast. :)
I'll be followed 3 weeks starting in 2 weeks, then I'll have my letter to an endocrinologist (once again specializes in LGBT+ patients, private) in my home city. Can't wait!!
