Title: Right now I have the flu...
Post by: Hurin_Steadfast on January 01, 2008, 04:18:46 PM
... and I"m wondering about the Immune System & HRT. Excuse me for thinking this, but girls get sicker easier than guys do, don't they? I'm not sure if its just the age difference, but my mother who is in her mid-sixties always complains that its cold on days which I would say are, well, at best a little cold. I vaguely recall my sisters or other females closer to my age complaining about such ailments. Again, I'm not trying to be sexist, but has anyone who has undergone HRT actually felt themselves, well, getting a little less robust?

I can't think of any way to improve my verbage, but as it is I'm very chilly right now. My mother surprisingly said it was warm in the grocery store, but I felt so very shivery. I know its the flu.

Hum,

I may not be the best person to answer this one since I am always cold!! I grew up in LA and if it dropped below 65 I searched for my parka...yep...I'm that much of a coldy!!

I don't think that HRT would directly affect your immune system, I believe that genetics plays a larger role there then what hormones you have running through your system...but don't quote me on this...it's not based on any scientific facts...

Peace and love,

No they don't! I can't image where this idea came from. I can't comment on the HRT connection but getting sick is not sex related. Now, being cold seems to bother girls more than boys but that is not directly related to getting sick.

I don't think there is connection hrt and immune system. I started them September 1 and I usually get sick by now. I have not been sick yet. But cold and hrt is a yes for me. I think my new ideal room is about 74-75. Maybe your just getting a bit cold.

It is very cold in Tennessee 16 for the low.
