Title: My name is Ashley Jade
Post by: ashleygirl on September 21, 2018, 11:31:01 PM
Hi everyone!  My name is Ashley Jade and I live in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  I am currently going back to college to get my bachelor's degree in cybersecurity.  I suffer from horrible anxiety and I also have depression.  Sometimes, it's very hard to get out of bed and everyday feels like a struggle.  There days where I feel like I am in excruciating amounts of emotional pain and I can't get out of it.  There are days where I just want to cry and wish that this pain would go away.  I'm really sorry if I brought all of you down with this introduction, but that's my life.

Dear Ashley Jade:
Thank you for reading my welcome comments on the other thread that I recently Officially Welcomed you on as a new member of Susan's Place and then following my suggestion and Link to come here to the Introductions Forum to tell more members about yourself and your arrival here on the Forums.

Your Introductions posting will give many other members here a chance to get to know you and there will be those that can identify with much of what you are going through in your journey.   Therefore you should be able to start the sharing process and experience more give and take with other like minded members... and there is no doubt that you can make some new friends here in the process.

Enjoy your time here on the Forums, I trust that you will find this an enjoyable and informative experience.
Best wishes to you.... and again, Welcome to Susan's Place
Danielle

@ashleygirl  Hi Ashley - It definitely sounds like you might need to go and talk to a therapist to help target the source of your anxiety and to find a way to deal with it. If it happens to be entirely gender related then a therapist who specializes in gender would be ideal - I'm sure with a bit of investigating you could find one.
I would offer some advice but given the extreme nature of what you're going through I think you need face to face time with a professional.
Also As Dawn said, a transgender support group could really help you and alleviate some of your stress simply by being around people in similar situations to you.  I'm pretty sure there is a place on this site somewhere that lists support groups in the US. -  does anyone have the link?

Take care,

Sonja.

Hey Ashley!

Don't worry about bringing your thoughts here. I think everybody have their ups and downs, so it's totally ok to talk about it. You're not alone - guess you've already noticed it in your threads that people here tend to be supportive ;) So feel free to share your feelings and thoughts with us, and somebody will answer you :)

You've already recieved a good suggestion to find therapist. They're studying for handling such things like anxiety or depression. It's probably the best decision because hell you may never know what exactly brings such feelings.

Anyway, glad to greet you here :) Welcome :)
