Around this time of the year I tend to start watching a lot more scary movies and ghost show, any of you ladies into watching the scary stuff at night? What are some of your favorite scary/horror movies to cuddle up with someone and watch? I'm looking forward to the new Halloween movie, Jaime Lee Curtis looks great handling that shotgun.

I only watch scary movies when I have someone there to keep me company and right now i don't. So, no scary movies for me!

I wanted to watch all the Alien franchise movies again, as my favorite sci-fi/horror franchise but I got to the third one and decided I'd just stick with those 3.
It was in November, but I watched "The Witch" (2015) for the first time.
Very disturbing, scary film. But let down by the ending. Still, the atmosphere up to that point made it worthwhile.

I think I binged watched a load of found footage films lol, some where actually pretty decent.
Others... Not so much.
There were a couple that where a case of 'This is two hours of my life I'm never getting back'.
Still fun though lol.
I am currently rewatching the supernatural series am well be soon on S11
I have a hard time finding something I consider scary. Blood and guts don't do it for me. But mental stuff does. I miss Wes Craven, but M. Night Shyamalan does a good job.
If you want to have your brain twisted up, I recommend:
1408 - John Cusak and Sam L. Jackson.
Memento - not scary but twisted.
Practical Magic - Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman
Shutter Island - Leo DiCaprio
Buried - Ryan Reynolds
These are on my "Watch Again" List. :icon_yikes:
No. I do not like terrifying movies.
I do wish to see Twister. I suppose there might be terrifying scenes, but I know there will be no monsters, dungeons, and other scary things like that.

I do not like the gore stuff.
Horror films arnt what they used to be. Best ones to watch are hammer horror they rely on scares and jumps more than the acting
Most horror movies are so bad that I would pay a lot of money to get back the time I wasted watching them. There are some really good ones that I can watch repeatedly, though.
Among my favourites are The Shining and Angel Heart.
The first horror movies I watched were the 1940s British films Dead of Night and The Rocking Horse Winner. I still watch them whenever they are broadcast. Because they are not gory, they are regarded as suitable for daytime broadcast but I still find The Rocking Horse Winner disturbing while I watch in fascination the doom of a child trying to please amiable but self-absorbed adults.
A short oldie is The Bespoke Overcoat. It is sad and funny rather than scary but the topics should scare us. If you ever wondered what the phrase "going to Hell in a handcart" originally meant (some people erroneously say "handbasket"), you will find out moments after the film starts.
There are old and new versions of the The Monkey's Paw which are both good. This story is the origin of the notion that genies grant three wishes that always turn out badly. It makes good horror, though and I like the Wishmaster movies. Actually, there is no Arabian tradition that limits djinns to three wishes and there is no necessity that they will turn out badly, Take the djinns in Aladdin for example. In the peninsula of Little Aden (I think it has been renamed since I lived nearby) in Yemen there are small rocky hills that are said to be djinns, especially near the village of Bir Fuqum, where there was even a djinn altar. It is probably no longer used since orthodox Islam spread through South Arabia in the mid-twentieth century.
A strange supernatural movie that should be a cult classic but is rarely shown is Nina Forever.
To lighten up after a binge of Halloween Horror, I recommend The Cabin in the Woods.
I am a Jack Nicholson fan, so The Shining, YES!
If you ever visit northern Colorado, spend a night at the Stanley Hotel. < shivers >
Our school put on a play of The Monkey's Paw when I was in 8th Grade. Loved that story.

As far as legit creepy stuff goes:
The Blair Witch Project (not the saccharin garbage they tried to come out with to capitalize on it) The OG movie.
"Session 9 (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0261983/)"... That is one of the creepiest movies you will ever see. One of my all time favourites.
I liked The Strangers: Chapter 1, very underrated movie in my opinion.
No, and probably not.
May go to a Halloween party though.
