Title: Oblivious people
Post by: Megan0000 on October 20, 2018, 09:44:07 PM
In a department store today and got the nerve up to buy some makeup. I bought foundation, eye shadow,  mascara, and some nice brushes. Standing at the cosmetic counter my purchases are on the counter, I'm not in dress the clerk come back from helping a older white lady. The lady starts putting her stuff on the counter and cuts in front of me. The clerk asks " oh are you two together?" I say no and lady doesn't acknowledge either of us. I stand down not feeling like b....mode. This lady asks me "who are you shopping for?" I wish I would have been honest but I said for my wife. This was the first time in my life I felt offended buying something. Am I over reacting?

Yes. Some people are just rude and don't care. I don't believe it was intentional or personal.  If it was someone else there they would have probably done the same thing.

You could have said, "I'm shopping for you dear, you seem privileged in every other way so why not?" Not over reacting!

I do not have much tolerance for rudeness.
Also, I have discovered that once you declare that you are shopping for yourself, you cease being a perv and become a customer.
