Title: Baby Steps!
Post by: JannaLM on October 25, 2018, 02:25:03 PM
Hi everyone!

Today I had on a pair of cute flats I've worn for the past few months (not publicly, but in the safety of my apartment). Today (after a small drink) I realized I needed to get the mail and slid out of them to get on my 'man' shoes... Then I stopped and said... 'Screw it'.

I slipped back into my flats and walked to the mailbox to get my mail today (it's about 300 feet away from my apartment) and I was so proud of myself! It felt so good to finally be outside wearing SOMETHING that reflects the inner me!

I just felt like I needed to get that out!

So like the title says, baby steps! It's not much, but it is progress!

Kisses!
-Janna

Any step that gets you closer to being the real you is a good one.  Well done!

And now, riding that wave of excitement, I finally got the courage to email a therapist near me to ask about a consultation!

Congratulations!  Shoes can be a pretty significant gender marker. The first steps out into the wider world are pulse-pounding and surrealistic.    Discovering that the sky doesn't fall is quite a high.  Good luck with therapy.

Congrats Janna,

I haven't been outside wearing any outwardly feminine items yet but I'm super proud of you and excited about how you took charge and made that decision once and for all. Panties and pantyhose have been truly wonderful for me. I want very much to join you in expressing myself in public. Thank you for giving me yet another inspiration to be myself as well. Love and faith.

Thank you so much everybody!

@Gabrielle66 I know how you feel girl. I've been wearing panties almost exclusively for the past couple years. I also regularly wear bras and more recently, ive started wearing pantyhose and thigh highs in place of socks. When you are ready though, I'm sure it will be liberating! I believe in you girl!

Kisses!

That's awesome! And good luck with the therapist,  I know mine helped a lot just listening to everything that was going on.

Congratulations Janna on both counts. I am so happy for you.

I hope you are able to arrange and attend therapy soon.

Yays! My first time outdoors was a trip all the way out to the driveway. A car came down my street and I leapt back into my car in a panic!  ;D. Keep marching, girl, you have momentum on your side.

Hugs, Devlyn

Well done on being so brave... and especially on making the appointment with the therapist.

I chose clothing that was women's but more androgynous in style and went out in that last Tuesday. So you don't need to don a frock for the first steps... little deeds lead to great success.

love

Janna,

That is so awesome.  Congrats on a big step forward!  You are braver than me, but I do plan on going out on Sunday, so maybe I will let you know how it went.  Also, that's great that you are reaching out to a therapist.  I also have done the same and have an appointment on Halloween.  I guess I could go as my female self and if anyone questions, I'll just tell them that I'm a beautiful woman for Halloween haha!  Best to you on this journey, I'll be right alongside you.

That's so great that you were able to express yourself!  It must have been a huge relief.  I hope your therapy goes well too.  It can be really helpful just to talk to someone about this stuff.
