Title: Surgeons questions
Post by: inenidok on October 29, 2018, 11:36:05 AM
Well i am almost ready for surgery for the bottom  part waiting another year for breast give it tine to develop. Now i found a wonderful surgeon close by but the down fall cash up front then try to get insurance to cover. Well my old plan would not pay a dime for anything. I have recently changed jobs and my new coverage will cover the surgury and treatment and therapy etc. You have to meet certain criteria but i have meet this criteria. Now i found another surgeon outside Philadelphia pa,  I mostly definitely would like to talk to, its Doctor Rumor  i was wondering if anyone has used her and are pleased. I really like to get all info i can so i can move foward but cautiously.  Its a big deal to get it right the first time. And she does except my insurance.

Thanks all

One warning, get coverage in writing from your insurance.  Mine requires it before trans services or they will reject the claim.

'Get it right".....you might want to Google "wall of vaginas".  It's going to look like one of them. Which one is right? Anyone's guess.

You need to have realistic expectations going in. Your starting anatomy, the technique used, how you heal, adherence to the dilation schedule, all are going to influence the final outcome.

My experience with Dr. Rumor was good. I'm 2 years post op and very happy with the results.
There are some two year old threads in the transitioning section documenting my and others surgeries.

If you search you'll find a large number of complaints about Dr Rumer.

Disclaimer: I am not a rumor patient

And if you go google her, you will find a lot of less than positive reviews.

That said, everyone I know personally who used her, both ftm and mtf, are happy with the outcome.

Her manner is very .. impersonal.

I did not use her because her office staff is not responsive in my experience. Over six months to get a quote.

Thats what i need to find out i live in North Carolina and there are not many around here that do the surgery and much less take insurance. I dont want to have to drive out to the west coast.
