My friend Evelyn who I have talked about welcoming me to the transgender community, has lost her third client. Evie is a Web Designer and has been successful throughout her former life. She had GRS a couple months ago and since then she has lost business. Evie is no slouch at her profession creating websites that sit atop the Google search matrix. This is not a religious thing, it is pure and simple hate for a equal human being because she is expressing what has always been inside her.
Evie is a force of nature that just attracts people not because of her sex but rather her compassion, strength, leadership. She has been very generous with her money supporting numerous transgender causes in the Seattle area. She maintains a home for transgender/transexual residents.
My hope is, someday people open their eye's and hearts and realize we are human beings first and foremost.
Quote.

I can only hope.
Hugs,

So true Dawn. I share your hope. There has to be a way to break through and make people see that we are all the same even though we express ourselves differently. Love and faith.

It's a shame, but surely she could minimize the loss somehow. I've been a webdesigner before now (when identified female) and it was quite possible to operate without clients knowing much about my private life.
As an artist myself I never reveal much about my life or politics in work circles and keep the two separate if possible. It seems only likely to court problems if I did.
(I mean in general, too, not just regards any trans related information). Staying neutral actually aided my business in different countries I'm sure, especially where they may be more religious where I not, or more conservative or liberal than I am, and even to the point of using a pseudonym that is very difficult to pin down to any one region/gender so judgements can't be made on that either. Maybe some would think that's not for them, but business is just business to me. The more the better.
