Hey so I've been living pretty much as full time
Since the spring of this year.
My dad and his wife rented a chalet at a ski resort
I'm pretty into skiing before I came out it was really
Only one of a hand full of things that helped me distract myself
From my dysphoria. The only thing is with my winter gear
Everything is from before I started transition. So while I'm
Skiing I will have to present as male. I don't have extra money
At the moment for a new jacket ski pants etc my jacket is pretty
Masculine but with the cost of two days of skiing it seems like y only option
It will be strange presenting as male again. My other option is go dressed as an
Elf and ski for free lol
You body development might make things a little..different
I started being full time in 2013 in every way other than my telecommuting with work and the occasional business trip when I'd wear a binder.
Tbh, it'll probably be dysphoric, but you shouldn't beat yourself up over it or anything. Just do you, whatever you want that to be or need it to be

I don't know where you live but you may try "Play it Again Sports". Trade in your old stuff for new and get a larger discount. We get our sons hockey gear there for about 25% of full price. Thrift stores might have what you need. I went to Goodwill at Halloween and they had a pretty large selection of winter gear but I live in a large metro area on the fringe of several large ski areas.

Good idea. My dad used to do that with my younger brothers hockey gear.
Totally slipped my mind that was an option.
Thanks

If it does not bother you, why not ski as a guy? You might be gender fluid, as I am. I go as a man if it is more advantageous than being a woman, like Auto stuff, home improvement stuf and similar. It does not bother me at all. I am 100% presenting as a woman, if i do not have a reason to be a man.

When I was transitioning my therapist would have said I failed my full time real life experience if I had spent any time presenting as a guy. A failed RLE meant no GCS back then meant no SRS without resetting the clock. I'm not sure how much it has changed since then but it was a very real concern for me at the time.
If it bothers you, wear makeup and lipstick, and whatever woman's clothes you can under your ski clothes. Dress girly for apres-ski. You are still presenting as a woman even if your ski wear is blue or gray. RLE doesn't mean that you have to bankrupt your wardrobe budget or do without fun activities.
I still wear my old hiking clothes when I take the dog for a walk, because they are well suited to the purpose and bloody expensive to replace. But I am a girl and I am presenting as such, regardless of what I am wearing.

How would they know if you do not share this with them? Non of my docs know that I can switch genders as easy as I can switch shoes! Depending on my physical development, I might not be able to do this for long, but I want to use this ability for my advantage, as long as I can! I am 100% female most of the time, and only switch gender for certain things.

This is a solid suggestion ;D

I don't know how. I just know it came up for me because of my Mom. She told my therapist that I went as a guy for Christmas so I shouldn't be able to have GCS. Thankfully my therapist saw through that ploy. Plus while yes I did wear my GWU T-shirt one time down there it was as a pajama top.
In this case of skiing I think a exception would be made in this circumstance if the issue did come up because the equipment is expensive and the transition process is expensive and we are not made of money. I like Kathy's suggestion of accessorizing.
A new jacket and pants is expensive unless you get them at a thrift store.
But, you may be able to find a a really girly pair of gloves, scarf and wool cap/head covering at good prices.

I understand! But in my case it is only me and myself who will have contact with any medical person I am involved with. My mother died 32 years ago. I wish she would still be around, because she would understand and support me. My parents were hoping that I would be a girl. Now I can finally fulfill their wish!
I use to think of while out hunting, hiking and fishing wear my old boy clothing was cheating and I would be called he/him/sir that doesn't happen. I wear a little make up and try to be feminine. I haven gotten rid of most of my male clothing, I lost 75+ lbs since transition and all were way to large. My partner Ski's or did and all her things were what ever was priced well for good gear. I don't think you are cheating by wearing your old things, just being economically smart!
Take care

Lots of potential for misgendering but if you can deal with that, wearing your old outer stuff wouldn't necessarily be presenting as male.
I'm kinda stuck with mens shoes for golf. Have never seen on line or otherwise womens golf shoes in a size 13. Mine are brighter colors with rainbow shoestrings to compensate.
