Title: Help with HRT?
Post by: Karanda on December 30, 2018, 05:16:49 PM
Started HRT on July 27th 2018, all was good and great...then my Doctor informed me that she would be leaving her offices and that I would be required to find a new doctor, which I am struggling to do quite spectacularly. None of the places her office recommended will take me on due to either insurance issues or lack of experience in that specific field.  I'm really running out of patience and am currently down to my last few pills of E with no refills left, spiro has been gone for a couple of weeks now. I don't know what to do =/. Michigan just seems like a terrible place for this whole thing to happen.

Hi.

You could go to this thread and use the online tool to find gender care related providers in your area.

Detroit and Chicago may have "informed consent" transgender clinics also if you need one of those.  Maybe one of those would be close to where you are at.

Here is an MD located in Farmington, MI versed in HRT, Dr. William Powers.  He is a good person and very caring. I have never seen him as a professional, however we did chat time to time online.

You could check with Planned Parenthood, they have gender specialists

Did you ask your doc to write you a 90 day script to hold you over for awhile?

This.

I got a six month prescription for traveling, it had to be paid out of pocket because of insurance, but ended up being much cheaper ($36 for six months of E)

Have you mentioned this to your family doctor?  They should be able to write a prescription for you, until you find someone.
