Title: Orchiectomy surgery went well
Post by: StacyRenee on January 14, 2019, 06:24:05 PM
Well I've been hibernating for a few weeks after a conversation turned ugly. I apologise for that. I'm back to share my experience with having an orchiectomy.

I'm back home and recovering from my orchiectomy last Friday morning. Only 72 hours of pain, today's been rather pain free. Very little swelling and bruising so far.

The surgical staff were super friendly and outstanding. Dr. Harris was professional in every way. Listened to my questions and concerns. Advised me as to the best course of action. Can't recommend him enough.

Hi StaceyRenee,

That's great to hear. I think congratulations is the wrong word, but it must be awesome for you to be rid them.

Hi Stacy - Glad it's done and the pain is subsiding.  I had mine in 2017.  Yeah 72 hours sounds about right to me.  That's what I keep telling people that act like it's nothing.  It HURTS for a few days but you should be fine now.  I was sore down there for another week or so but you are past the worst part.

What you can look forward to... YAY !!!  I think the lack of testosterone does a lot to help estrogen be more effective.

I am on patches and only one third the usual dose and I can tell the difference after the orchie.  Some breast development even on low dose and my body hair is far less.  Head hair is a bit thicker and my skin is noticeably softer.

Not night and day type of differences but I guarantee by the end of 2019 there will be differences in your body that are enough to notice.  And I can tell my mood is different too.

Congratulations.

LOL !! I use the line a lot with my guy friends 'I didn't have the balls to _____  oh wait I don't have them for ANYTHING."

I only say stuff like that to people I know well.

Once I had my orchi, I can proudly say that I am not only partially spineless, but also have no ball to top this!

The spineless thing, because I had 3 vertrabe partially removes and replaced with real top quality stainless steel!
