Title: Started Getting soreness in my breast (yay!), switched to sublingual and a week and half later the s
Post by: Dana Thompson on January 21, 2019, 07:57:49 PM
About 5 weeks into my regimen I started to get soreness and minimal growth. Very exciting. Around the same time I switched my administration to sublingual. Slowly the soreness faded and now it's mostly gone. Did I screw it up? Everything I read says sublingual is better, but am I not getting the same dose? Should I switch back?

Thanks for the advice

If your just starting, it's possible that you had an initial surge and then your body adjusted. It's likely your still on a lower dosage and if so, when your dosage is bumped up in a few months, the soreness will return. Sublingual works however if your on a low dosage, there is only so much it will do.

Give it time dear, five (5) weeks is just starting. I have been on IM Estrogen almost 2 years now and they hurt, don't hurt... hurt... I had BA back on 12/03/18 and have since had growth post swelling. It's puberty and it takes time. Soon you will be damn things get in the way ;)

As many of you know, I am a big advocate of sublingual Estradiol. The tablets are really inexpensive, readily available and very effective if used correctly.

Using the sublingual method requires a specific technique.

First, drink or swish and spit some water to wet the inside of your mouth. When you place the tablet in your mouth it can go anywhere under the tongue or between the cheek and gums. Let the tablet sit there for about 10 to 15 minutes until the tablet is completely dissolved and no longer feels gritty. Do not eat or drink for another 15 to 30 minutes and try your best to not swallow your saliva during that time.

I know that this sounds too simple, but any changes to the technique can make big differences in how much Estradiol is absorbed through the skin on the inside of your mouth.

My problem seems to be that the tablet dissolves much faster than that. Under the tongue is like 3 minutes. The only way I can get it to stay at all is to put it between my lip and Gum but I don't find anything that says that is proper administration. I don't know if I just have a lot of saliva or what.

I take estradiol under my tongue because it has always been recommended by my endocrinologist so that it does not have to go through my stomach and become other types of estrogen, and so far it has worked well, I always take it in the morning (6:00 Am, 5:50 AM) Because it's my high school schedule and it takes me to be completely disintegrated around 1 or 1 hour and a half and it's uncomfortable, I don't know if it's because I do not generate a lot of saliva or who knows v:

but I'm used to it so... My rutine xoxo XD :*

Wow, I don't know how it can last an hour! I tried really tucking it back there and I was able to get to about 10-13 minutes. Maybe you have a different type of tablet?

I don't know, I take 17 beta estradiol (which is bio identical) micronized, does that have anything to do with it?

You are taking the correct form of Estradiol.

Some of us have wet mouths and others are dry. This is why I recommend a mouth rinse with water before taking the tablet.

Once the tablet is dissolved the medication is in liquid form and then it is absorbed through the skin inside your mouth. This does not happen immediately and the time it takes for the tablet to dissolve varies for everyone and for each manufacturer and even each batch of medication from each maker. Expect some variation, but keep the inside of your mouth wet otherwise the tablet will never dissolve in a reasonable amount of time.

My problem is that the tablet dissolves in like 3-7 minutes. I feel like I'm just injesting it and it's not being absorbed.

10.5 weeks on HRT (no t-blockers yet) and about 2 weeks ago it felt like a whole family of bees moved into my chest, and I started to randomly walk into walls, doors, and cabinets. I swear the things are invisible until I hit them!
