Bummer, they were one of my "go to" stores!

Tonya,

I saw that this liquidation will not impact its franchised stores so perhaps you have a franchised store near you.

Stock up online now!  Maybe you can drive to several stores to check out their inventory also.

You might try Zappos, although they are typically higher cost shoes, or LongTallSally.

By the way, as I think you are a pharmacist, is about any generic you buy at a USA pharmacy, regardless what country they are made in, as safe as generics made in the USA?  (Other than what I hope are rare product recalls.)  One would not think that a major pharmacy supplier would take unsafe chances on what they buy from manufacturers to save money.

Same here! I'm wondering if I have to find a shoemaker. Torrid has some things - maybe they'll expand.

You might try Zappos ...

This. After almost two years of searching, I think I finally found heels I can wear. Depending on the shoe, I wear a 12 or a 13; my feet are actually 12½. Zappos sells both sizes in heels. My new walking shoes are also from them, in size 13.

Only places I can think that might be franchises by me are in stores that are also going out of business and never really stocked much in the 13s anyway.

I read that they already stopped taking online orders. I was hoping they might keep the web business but they are not.

I can fit a 12 wide in some from Target and Penney's but neither carry them in store as a rule.  Not thrilled with ordering on line but    I guess I'll have to.

Assuming your pharmacy is buying FDA approved generics, it shouldn't matter where they are made.

While not as handy or nice as trying the shoes on in a brick and mortar store, there are several online sites that cater to large women's shoe sizes in all the various styles, heels, boots, sandals, etc.

Tonya,

Geez that sad to see a long time shoe store go out of business. Just when we get used to having a resource that we can get items at.

I have purchased several pairs of boots and shoes from "shoesusa.com" in Los Angeles.
This company has great shoes and boots and will do custom sizing up to size 14 or more. I have been really impressed by the quality and construction of their footwear. Also with that, they are "more expensive" but in my opinion the shoes are worth it.

One of my long time favourite shoe designers who has options for some larger womens sizes is "Fluevog shoes and boots" based in Vancouver BC with stores all over Canada and the US. They have a variety of funky styles and designs and their staff is amazing to work with in any store. I am a big fan and buy regularly from them, the staff know me well and I go in and try any heels or boots on with lots of help. They often have sales which drop the prices quite nicely several times a year.
It was also said to hear that "Shoes of Prey" also went out of business last summer. I had purchased a couple of pairs of shoes from them as well, another lose for folks with larger size needs.
For me I am on the upper end of women's regular sizing, at size 10.5 -11 so I still have a lot of options available.
Hope that helps for anyone looking for bigger sizes.

I concur. The level of sadness is indeed at the sucking point.
I got several pairs of shoes from them. Took me awhile to find a place that had shoes big enough for my feet until finally a friend showed me them. Now I must go back out on the hunt.

They will be missed for sure.  The quality might not have been the best but the price was right and as others pointed out, it was one of the only stores that actually stocked sasquatch sizes like I need.

I used to go to Payless all the time, until I got caught. I once went on a spree and bought $100 worth of shoes from them in a single go. Too bad I purged all of them.

For once I think I'm lucky. I can generally wear a size 11, which most stores sell. The only exception seems to be stilettos. Then I need a 12 because of the pointy toe.

I purged so many shoes that anyone that bought some used 13s at Goodwill in my area probably needs to thank me.

NOOOOO!

Literally ALL of my women's shoes and boots are from Payless. This really really really sucks. I have no idea where I'll shop for those now. (Although, I have enough pairs, that I shouldn't have to for a while...unless the size of my feet change.)
