Title: Confused by free testosterone test results
Post by: KennedDoll on March 03, 2019, 03:01:10 PM
I am about 2 months on Estradiol and Spironolactone and I got test results for Testosterone levels.

They only give Free Testosterone results:

0.6 pg/ml

with a comment that standard is 46-224

Elsewhere I see standard (for who, I don't know) as 0.2 - 2

Essentially, I want to know if it's too low (0.6 compared to 46) or slightly low (0.6 compared to 0.2-2). I've sent a message to my doctor and I'm not expecting medical advice here, but I tend to look for other opinions about things.

I have never seen the pg/ml measurement on my T readings, so I did a little looking.

I found this diagram on a site that talks about normal T ranges for men of different age groups.

According to this, it would appear that you are well below the male range of Free Testosterone.

To know for sure, you should contact the doctor that ordered the blood sample and see what they say.

Thanks. They didn't answer my question and just said I'm where they would like me to be, in terms of suppressing testosterone. So, I'm still feeling skeptical. If there is a "too low" for women (for reasons other than Libido), then maybe I'm too low...

I like to be in the upper teens. Teen girls have as much as 40-45 pg/ml.
