After much back and forth and what I consider many unnecessary delays I have finally been approved for top surgery!

The interactions I've had between the medical group, the insurance (HMO) and the surgeon's office were frustrating and tedious, to say the least. It's taken 9 months to get to this point. Thats's insane to me. Living in California I certainly expected the process to work better than it has.

I thought I would be ecstatic upon hearing the news. And I think that I am, but in a very guarded way. So many things have gone wrong that I am not convinced it will go smoothly from this point forward.

Nonetheless, I am going to continue with my patience and persevere through whatever else gets thrown my way. I'm hoping to get an idea of the scheduling window next week. The surgeon is a busy guy, probably looking at another 3 month wait.

Congratulations Perry sounds like its been a tough time for you...its always nice to have a win...if a little guarded although I can't say I blame you.

Once you get a proposed surgery consultation date and/or surgery date scheduled please let all of your readers and followers know so that we can count down the days with you....
This is all very exciting but can also be frustrating trying to get firm date commitments...
and yes, continue with your patience and perseverance!

I finally have a surgery date!

Provided I pass the pre-op clearance appointment I will be undergoing top surgery on July 9th!

Amazing to me that an entire year will have passed by the time I undergo this procedure.

DUDE!  Congrats!  ;D  I knew you'd get a date if you just kept at it!

Keep us in the loop, okay?  I'm curious as to what kind of surgery and how you heal and whatnot.
