Title: Hello from Down Under
Post by: Miss Kitty on March 23, 2019, 08:55:37 PM
Hey there girls,

I am a 30 year old trans woman from Queensland, Australia, I have been using this site for research since I came out as trans about 14 months ago and have decided to become a member and not just a stalker :P. I recently returned from Spain after having had FFS with the Facial Team and after meeting a few other t-women over there I have been more motivated to have contact with other transgender people (I really underestimated the importance of having other t-women to talk to about certain issues).

I have been on HRT for 11 months and was hoping I would be confident and bold enough to get through transitioning without having to have support but I think it is absolutely vital to any trans person, no matter how independent, to have some a feeling of community.

I am hoping to contribute some help to others here and not just receive it.
Nice to meet you all and big hugs

Hi there Miss Kitty!

It is a pleasure to welcome you!

It's a wonderful site with wonderful people. They have helped me a lot in the short 5-6 months I have been on this site (even though I admit my visits have been lacking lately). I appreciate you  taking the time to join us!

thanks for the warm welcome guys, its good to know there are other Australians on here too! Im really looking forward to making friends on here :) Its been hard finding any one who can relate, I have found the "gay scene" to be very uninviting to trans people unfortunately

Yes, it seems the LGB would rather the T not be included.  Yes, they're two completely different classifications, but together, we're stronger.

I've loved talking to most of the Aussies I've known over the years. :)

And you're right, support is vital to a lot of us.

Yes, it seems the LGB would rather the T not be included.

I've only admitted to myself recently that I'm MtF, so had a lot of catching up to do over the past month or so, to discover that I've joined the proverbial "red-headed stepchild" of the rainbow community.  Even some Transpeople don't like other Transpeople.

Eh, to heck with 'em though, I got more important things to worry about than gatekeepers on the internet.
