Alright so I just have a quick question. I have anxiety and it gets in the way at work a lot of the time, so I want to talk to a therapist and maybe get onto some anti anxiety meds. My only fear is that if I am diagnosed with anxiety or depression that a surgeon may be skeptical about performing Gender confirmation surgery.
(I don't think I am depressed, I am honestly pretty happy with the way my life is going, but I do worry about being diagnosed as such.)
Does anyone know if being diagnosed with anxiety or depression makes it more difficult to have surgery?

No... and yes. The standards of care call for our providers to ensure that we are capable of making an informed decision on surgery, and whether there are underlying mental health issues.
Welcome to Susan's Place!
