Title: body doing different things to a worrying stage
Post by: Alexa08 on April 23, 2019, 05:42:20 PM
Hello, i havent been on here a while now i had to recover my account due to completely forgetting the password which i struggled with, i started my HRT in december of last year, i didnt really see many results for the first few weeks which i undertood that my body maybe needed to ajust and also i believed that my tablets were of a prebation dosage to ensure there wasn't any side affects, though this may be incorrect, anyway my review was in march and at this stage my tablet dosage ajusted. before my review i began getting a sore chest and the shape and overall defintion was beginning to change in my upper chest also (only slight like), after my review and taking the new dosage i started getting more soreness and dull ahces in the bottom of my legs kind of like when you've sat funny, on odd occasions i would also get muscle spasms however these were in my legs and arms and also around the middle of my stomach bordline chest, i expressed my concerns to my gp who said that this is normal and infact everything seems to be of normal stages however they felt that because i could acheive a better result my tablet dosage was ajusted once more. these muscle spasms and dull aches still happen so i'm alittle worried if this is deffo normal or not as the doctors and GC seem to think so. i'm hoping someone can shed some light on this experience.

i'm sorry for such a essay, many thanks

I also started my HRT the first of December.

When I was about a month & a half on patches, I developed the breast tenderness.

The other thing that happens is some loss of muscle mass.  I, my muscles, fatigue easier after 5 months on HRT and am considering a strengthening regimen.

I don't know, but if you have any doubts ask for a relook or second opinion.

The chest pain is normal and indicates that your breast tissue is responding to the hormones.

The muscle pain in your legs is not normal.  If one of your medications is spironolactone, make sure that you are drinking enough water.  Spiro makes you pee a lot, and you need to replace that fluid or you will get dehydrated.  If your doctor is not concerned, then you probably shouldn't be either.  But if it persists, remind them about it.

I have the same idea as Kathy has.  Either you do not drink enough water, or the potassium sparing function of spiro may have increased your potassium to a critical level.  if you are on spiro, you should watch the intake of potassium containing foods.  I would make sure not to eat any foods tat are high in potassium.  Your doc should do a comprehensive lab of your blood to see not only about the T and E levels, but also about your potassium!
