Title: Trans poll - please vote
Post by: Christine_Hart on April 25, 2019, 03:28:25 AM
The local rag in Leeds, England, has this poll on their website about Leeds Council changing the way people can register their gender. Doubtless to say, certain transphobic websites are organising a pile-in on the danger to women option. Please vote 'no'. You don't have to register, sign in or anything. The poll's about halfway down the article.

Christine

There is no link unfortunately.

As you know I appreciate your pointers to surveys or polls in UK whether national or regional.

We need to counter the transphobic threat by making ourselves heard in surveys and polls.

Hugs

Yes it seems to have disappeared. Quite a few girls did vote but them some others contacted me to say it had disappeared. Maybe the publisher had second thoughts and realised it was a bad idea.

I thought Leeds Council's gender options on the recent application form I filled out for them was awesome. Women (including transwomen), Men (including transmen), nonbinary, other, prefer not to say. I just liked that transwomen were included as women. It is the only job application form that I've filled out that has not caused a dysphoric reaction in me... even though I ticked prefer not to say. Sadly I didn't get the job but they gave me some great feedback when I asked.
