I was just taking the trash out a few minutes ago, apparently I don't get a pass on "manly" duties even though on HRT. So, I'm outside feeling the sun on my face and arms and thought, well....I'm not going to be going outdoors topless anymore. It's kinda a shame but I guess I can't wish for one thing and then lament over another.
What do you miss?
Lol well I suppose you could go topless. Speaking from someone that is still one foot between worlds, I think the throw anything on and go to a store...... where enfem... an hour later everything perfect then go out.... but then again I am the only one hold me back right? technically you can do anything you want ;)
Yeah anything topless is now a thing of the past. Yeah just throwing on anything and going outside is definitely history.
But it doesn't bother me much. I used to host customers at company conferences in Las Vegas. I was always dumbfounded by the couples where the lady was dressed to the hilt, and the guy looked like he just finished a baseball or softball game.
I always wondered why the ladies tolerated it. Maybe that's just another example of my brain being feminine.
I guess if I'm going to miss anything it going to be 'I can't towel dry my hair any more.' It's now definitely 'blow drying, straightening and maybe curling the ends.'

Post GCS... I hate to admit it, but I miss my pointing device when I pee. It used to be so simple.
Oh, pockets.
How about alarm to out-the-door in 5 minutes. Ha, those days are gone.

Absolutely nothing whatsover.
what's the whole point of gender dysphoria, the transition process and being the true gender
we are meant to be if otherwise.

I agree, Denise! I allow a good 30 minutes to get ready to leave home. And I usually try on several outfits before I make a choice. The old me wore the same clothes every day. I prefer the new/real me much much more :)

The things mentioned in earlier posts are all part and parcel with being a woman, and I happily accepted them. As it was, by the late 80s (a decade before I finally formally started transitioning), when at all possible, I insisted on sitting down to pee, and refused to go around without wearing at least a tee-shirt. I'm not as strong as I used to be, but I'm not as weak as a kitten. Having to get up earlier to get ready for work - ah, it's no biggie, I'm a morning person anyway. :)
Activitywise, I still do many of the same things I did pre-transition (guitar playing, ham radio operating), and I was trained by dear old mom (along with my brother and sister), in doing "women's work" (cooking, cleaning, and laundry) when I was a kid, so that's no big deal for me. I gained so much by transitioning: I don't have to fake "acting manly" to keep from getting hassled; I can wear skirts in public (though I don't do so that often anymore, but I LOVE wearing a nice pair of knee high boots with jeans); and I don't hate my body like I did pre-transition, to the point where I seriously contemplated suicide.

Ditto on above, I love my ham radio (first licensed in '74), and I love my guitars....My hobbies and interests did not change.
I don't miss anything about trying to fake a "male life". I transitioned to remove that.

When I first started reading this thread I thought - I miss nothing. After reading this yep I do miss getting out the door fast. Putting on make up and doing my hair used to be a source of excitement. Now it's a chore. Definitely wouldn't trade it for anything but the time drain sucks.

I think you'll find that this question elicits different responses depending on what section of the forum you ask it in. This being the MTF Transsexual board, it's almost a given (I try not to speak in absolute terms on the site) that the people who post here won't be missing their penis. But if you look around, there are lots of transgender people for whom loss of sexual function is a major concern, for themselves and their partners.
In my opinion, the question would be better asked in the Transgender Talk or General Discussions area so a broader audience can answer. That's exactly two cents worth, you don't owe me any change. :)

What do I miss. Honestly, Not much.
I like to dress nice. The office went Business Casual back in 2000 so I hadn't been able to wear my favorite suits and ties in decades. In the dark grey world of finance shirts and ties were one of the few places I could be a bit bold with color.
One thing I do miss is short restroom lines at public events :icon_blah:.
I don't miss a darned thing. I never was a fan of being topless: I hated being on the "skins" team, when we were divided into "shirts" and "skins" in high school phys ed class. I sat to pee for years before I even contemplated coming out. And I was already a practising asexual before I transitioned, so nothing to miss there.
Okay, I lied a bit. I do miss my upper body strength. My chainsaw put on at least 20 pounds when I started HRT! :o On the other hand, guys offer to help when they see me lifting something heavy. ;D
Lol. My wife laughs at me. I used to to be up and ready. Now it takes. More time..... She warned me it would happen, and get worse as I transition. I know.

Cool! I've been playing guitar since 1979 (I even played semi-pro in rock bands for a while, and I play guitar in the church band at the present time). I've had my Ham license since 1978, and I've been an Extra since 1994.

P.S. - you don't have to paint yourself in a corner, by giving up doing the things you love to do, because they aren't "proper things for a woman to do." I made that mistake for a year or so (the period around the year 2000) in my transition, and ended up hating it, so I started doing the things I love to do again. Been doing them ever since them. :)
That's awesome @EllenJ2003 and nice to meet you YL :) I also played in "semi pro" working cover band and many others. I got my extra class in '76, love CW and DX'ing. I could PM you with further details....
I was always the domestic in our house growing up, and still am today

Exactly. Once we get comfortable as who we are then we can actually BE who we are. I still like some 'guy' things but so do most women.
What do I miss about being male ? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!

Hi to another YL!!! I loooove CW (can do high speed 30 wpm)! Oh! I'm one of those evil radio contesters (been doing it since I was in college in the 80s - losing myself in a radio contest was one of my way for coping with/distracting my mind from my being TS)! ;D We'll I'd better get going, I have to play guitar (I'm playing a Taylor 12-string) at mass in the church band in another hour or so.
I miss not having the self conscious feeling whenever I am out wearing a t-shirt and no bra. When I noticed my nipples and new arrivals out there for everyone to see..I knew I should be wearing one more consistently.
