Title: May The 4th Be With You! Yes, I'm a Geek. So, I Came By To Say Hi...
Post by: BrumbleBronze on May 04, 2019, 04:22:54 AM
Greetings, all!  Folks can call me Brum, or hey you!  Whatever works to get my attention.  >^--.--^<

So, let's see, about me...  Short, podgy, balding (dammit), what's left is dyed blue, just 'cuz.  Hazel eyes that go gold, green or brown, depending on the lighting, what I'm wearing, what make-up I have on (yup, I do that--hey, guys can wear paint) or my mood, which is as changeable as clouds.  Old Goth.  Likes dead things.  Likes live things.  Likes pretty things and strange things.  Especially strange things.  Artistic and odd, I do strange things in the name of art, and well, just 'cuz it's fun and it freaks the mundanes.  I make stuff--did I mention art?  Oh, yeah, I did.  Costumes, props, cosplay, prosthetics, make-up, even so-called 'normal' fashion, but if I can Punk or Goth it up, or do something to give it a bit of 'out there' pizz-zazz, I will.  We all need a little pizz-zazz in our lives.

Humour, oh definitely.  Robin Williams and George Carlin are my freakin' spirit animals.  (Rest in Peace, you lovely, lovely humans)  Right now, Gabriel Iglesias has me busting a gut with his wholesome brand of adorable.   I suffer from serious depression and anxiety, so those two help me stay alive.  Them and cute kitty memes and goofy critter videos.

Yeah, an old Goth likes to watch cute stuff--it happens more often than you'd think.  ;)  I also watch stuff some would

someone feel both emotionally and physically better about themselves as they get healthier.

Gimme nature shows!  Birds of Paradise are some of my favourites, or unusual and rare insects, spiders or invertebrates.  I ADORE spiders--look up the Peacock spider species if you want to be absolutely FLOORED at how pretty an arachnid can be.  And they DANCE to attract their mates!  Bleepin' adorable, and they're super tiny at only about 5 millimetres long...

So, I enjoy an interest in a great variety of things, like bugs, biology, nature, gardening, unusual plants and animals, unusual people (mutations, anomalies and exceptional humans with amazing abilities--they're all beautiful to me), music of various cultures and styles as well as my usual go-to's like Goth/Industrial, Psytrance, Black, Melodic and Folk Metal, Folk Punk (yes, it's a thing--Dropkick Murphys or The Pogues are a good start), superhero movies, science-fiction and fantasy novels, films, anime, and comics, the Furry Fandom (if you have any, um... regrettable attitudes toward the Furry crowd, you might want to ask some questions and maybe learn something to disabuse you of those notions, because, I almost guarantee, you, they're likely wrong, if they're negative) and a whole host of other weirdness.  I go to sci-fi and Furry conventions, I love cosplay and other geekery, I played LARP for nearly 12 years before I moved to an area where the demographic was too thin of geeks like me who'd want to play, and if I can get to a Ren-faire, I will.  I was at the Renaissance Pleasure Fair in Irwindale, California just last weekend and may be going again next weekend.  >^-^<

I'm mostly quiet, but opinionated.  I'm a political animal and I bite.  If you like

Amazing that I emigrated from Canada, the home country of Margaret Atwood, the woman who wrote the novel the TV series is based upon...  Don't blame me, blame love and marriage.  LOL

Dragons are all over my stuff.  I consider myself a dragon, too.  Deal with it, my dears.  You'll think I'm crazy for a host of reasons, so why not add one more?   And I'm a wordy little git.  Sorry about that.

Cheers and nice to meet'cha!

Brum
