I practiced the pieces our new Lesbian Ukulele band is going to pay in our upcoming Pride Parade! Our band is called the LUKULELES! There are about 36 in the group!
My right breast is looking about the same as my left one now.
Why the girls have taken a few years to even out, I do not know.
I am grateful! :) :)
Hugs!

Congratulations! I have the feeling that I may have uneven sized girls for the rest of my life. The left side is clearly in the lead!
Speaking of boobs, I think I might be getting some new growth. :icon_dance: Since I started on cypro a couple of weeks ago, they feel and look fuller, and my arms bump into them more often when doing stuff. Who knows, maybe I'll make it to an actual A soon? (The only reason they didn't call me an AA when they measured me at the store is because there's no such thing as a 38AA!)

Having last week being asked to be maid of honour, today another friend asked me to be a bridesmaid.
I am so honoured, as a boy I was never asked to be anything and it makes me feel so accepted. Although I've had a few up and down, this really put a smile on my face xx

Just cause they don't make 38AA bras doesn't mean the size doesn't exist. Same goes for my 42AA......

The boob fairy must have gotten a new supply of magic dust to spread for the trans ladies as I can also report some recent development. My formerly 42AA is approaching B cup. They need to fill out some for that to be an actual B. They're pretty firm and not fatty so I'm guessing after 6 months progesterone is showing some effects.

Today a random thug on a scooter tried to insult me by shouting "gay !" (male gay in my language) at me . I passed !
It made me grin. It made me shout YES! It made me laugh out loud. It made me accidentally "come out "spontaneously to my daughter. ( who said she doesn't care in a charachteristic i don't care young adult way ... hahaha)
This is a few days late, but Friday the receptionist at my doctors office had trouble recognizing me. Kept asking me questions s about when I was born and how to spell my name. Said that I look at least 10 years younger than the picture they have in my file. The picture is at least 10 years old so that is pretty darn cool!

I am not sure why but Renee on the right sure has been tingling and feels warmer than Linda on the left today and yesterday. Earlier today Renee's nipple hurt if I bumped it against my arm that reached across it. Maybe this has something to do with Renee filling out. I have not noticed much change on the left this past year or so.

A lovely girl in my chemistry class who is monotone and logical and serious invited our study group to her final in her singing class. She sang Je Veux Vivre from Romeo and Juliet, and she was freaking AMAZING. That little chemistry girl sings like an angel.
There was also a very elderly gentleman who sang What a Wonderful World and it made me cry. He had so much emotion behind his words.

I fondly recall Welcoming you as a new member here back at the end of March, almost 2 months ago. I have been very pleased to see that you have become quite involved in the various threads and have posted frequently with cordial, helpful and kind replies.
I will be looking forward to getting to know you better as time goes on here on the forums.

Yes, I can boone dock! I have a water tank big enough for about 4 days of use water, and holding tanks big enough for a bout 7 days (if on does a 1/2 second shower). The unit has a build in generator and everything a small home needs.
When i had my house for sale up north, the dog and I lived in it for 3 month, and now this summer e will go up north and plan to live in it about 3 months again. It has a full queen size bed in the back and a flip couch in the font.
It depends on the local laws where you can park. You can park in any areas that are under the federal BML.
I think that I am heavily on the path to SRS. I just was called by the Mayo Clinic in Mn, that I will have a nurse interview with the transgender department end of July, and will meet with a social worker and the surgeon early August!
I am in the system and the ball is rolling!
I did my annual checkups and health maintenance with them for almost 40 years, and they pulled my file and felt there should not be any problem for me for the surgery!
This is a pretty good day for me!

Got a nice little hairstyling trim to keep everything looking good. Been so busy. I would love to have longer, attractive hair; however, having less time needed to take care of the shorter hair as compared to longer hair is a trade off. But for longer hair, that is where the one wig I have comes in handy!

@ChrissyRyan Dear Chrissy:Last winter a year ago I had below shoulder length hair.... I love how it looked but it did take quite a bit of time to keep it looking good, especially on windy days and when wearing winter hats
(in the winter we always wear winter hats)Then last summer I had my hair cut and styled, kind of a pixie cut well above my shoulders but below my ears.
I had tons of compliments on how it looked on me. Lately I have been growing it our again but it is still above my shoulders for now.
Long hair in women's styles was something that I always wanted, I though it made me look more feminine... BUT, I am not thinking that as much now.... there are so many cute and easy to care for shorter styles of women's hair.....
I think it is always best to do for yourself what makes you happy and make you feel feminine.
Hugs,
Danielle

Well you do look feminine in your hairstyle (as I remember in pictures that you have used as your avatar), that is for sure. I think a nice same-length all around hairstyle down to about my chin would be nice for me to have and maintain.

I currently have something like a pixie cut. But I am also growing it out more. I want my hair to be about shoulder long.
I think that is a good compromise between to much work to keep it looking good (we don't wear heads here in the winter, we wear those wide rimmed ones in the summer), and looking feminin. I have to do everything I can, to hide my ears, I think I have the largest ears of any person in mankind!

I was having lunch with two girlfriends and it was really nice. Then we went clothes shopping but I came out of the store empty handed. Not buying took an immense amount of resistance against opening up my purse and handing over my credit card.
I am trying to keep to my commitment that for every two clothing items I buy this year that I donate at least one I already have. It does not have to be the same type of clothing though.
Really, I have enough as it is. But it was fun to shop.

Waiting to be served at the post office when a man walked up to the shop side and said to the lady serving this lady is first, I was wearing my dirty work clothes, no make up and my tatty old wig !!!
How do I begin that is the question, well lets start from the beginning shall we?
- Went to another town which was 30km away for a 3km swim, while listening to music all the time.
- Went to the nearest pathology lab in that town where the vampires took some blood from me for my new specialist Dr.
- Went to the local shopping center and brought four new tops, one long white dress and one colored skirt.
- Had lunch at the the local shopping center.
- Went home another 30km trip and listened to music
- Took some rubbish to the local rubbish tip
- Worked on the next installment of Sarah's Story
- Had an afternoon sleep
- Worked on several posts for members of Susan's Place
The above activities made me happy for the whole day today, or better still being alive for the whole day made me extremely happy.
Best wishes and take care everyone

I got "ma'amed" three times today!
I drove up to Sturgis to the Fort Meade VA Hospital for an appointment. As I was approaching the main entrance an older gentleman said "Good afternoon, ma'am". I replied with, "It's a beautiful day, isn't it?" He said, "Yes, Ma'am! It certainly is, ma'am."
It's been a while since I've been properly ma'amed. And he ma'amed me good. Made my day! :)

Excellent news! Thanks for sharing.

I feel very feminine today, and that is a nice feeling.
I am a woman, so maybe it makes no sense to say that; but, I just woke up refreshed, happy that I am a woman.

It is National Leave the Office Early Day.

I am actually planning to take the rest of the day off shortly after a quick start of the month meeting.

The result of the general election in the UK made me very happy today. It was a win for everyone not on board with all the utter... no I'll leave it there because I think everyone should have a voice. Even if they vote for right wing lunatics. A big part of me is glad we don't have proportional representation in the UK. I see it as "Hitler Protection". Especially considering the way most of Europe is leaning these days. Did Nazi Germany mean nothing to you people? I don't even... I did not vote for Brexit but when I see how mental large swathes of Europe is being these days.. to quote Terry Pratchett... we live in interesting times.
Today was a good day for most Brits, though.
For reasons I may get into on another post, we had an unexpected house guest for the week ending on Sunday July 7th. Since I'm only partly out and to a limited circle, it restricted what I could wear at home that week. It was especially hard over the long 4-day weekend that I took off for the Fourth of July. So, when our guest left on that Sunday, I put on a short skirt, some flats and a nice top.
A little later that day my wife asked if I was enjoying wearing nylons again. When I told her I wasn't, she said "Wow, nice tan, your legs look great!". That made my day.
Paulie. :)
Just being my authentic self seems tranquil. Will it last? I do not know what the future will actually bring. We shall see.
In the meantime, I will not take anything for granted.
Chrissy
I like being treated as a woman, especially by other women. Guys seem to eyeball you a bit more overtly than women do; but, they are just being guys I suppose. It is nice to get doors opened for you occasionally also.

Have a terrific day today! Now, smile!

Getting to my new work place having very open co workers that have been getting to know me more. Go back next month, math teacher at a high school. Went to my new classroom yesterday to finishing set up. My coworkers took it well when I told them I am transsexual, a pre op mtf. Saw I had an unhappy life before I transitioned and told me I am like any normal person just like them

last workplace, the principal did treat me like crap at times and I had enough of it. Last straw was when he sexually assaulted me and he is in prison doing his time. I am doing better, been seeing a therapist which has been a great help. This principal at my new work place, he treats me right and shows it

It is surprising how much bad behavior is caused by those "thinking with their genitals" and not with a clear mind.

The more I thought about it, I hadn't either. I doubt this is the same one, but I was happy to see him tonight and he posed for me while I took his picture.

It has been extremely here in the southeast. When I went outside this morning to go to work, I felt just a tiny chill in the air. It has been a beautiful and comfortable day, and I have enjoyed being out most of the day. It is way to early for Fall weather here, and I know it will be back in the high 90's next week. Just the promise of Fall, was a delight and filled me with hope.

Met 3 of my students yesterday, went good. I was there finishing things up arraigning things up and they came in to see where their locker is, all 3 are good kids. One is in my first period math class and the other 2 are in my 4th period math class. One of the students, I saw they were concerned about something and talked to them. I start next week Tuesday, know what I am going to wear already.

Teaching in K-12 public schools I hear is a very difficult job now for many, even the best, seasoned teachers. Parents' behavior can be unsupportive, looking for blame to be assigned not to their children but to the teacher, even if there are no questions that the teacher was not the one to blame for a situation.
Fortunately there are good, attentive kids and good parents. Teaching is an admirable profession.

Sent one to the office yesterday, a no cell phone in the class room rule. Caught them texting while in class and refused to hand over the phone to me, told me to "ef" off. Mom was not happy with him and did not blame me for anything. She warned him not to do it before he left for the school bus. Said she is going to make him apologize to me once his suspension is over coming back to school and it has to be a good one with her witnessing it

Well that is a positive reaction on the parent's part.
There should be a lockable machine like some employers have to lock up employee devices that cannot be used except on breaks or before or after work.
Some schools I hear think that students with some types of emotional needs or somewhere on the autism scale need to have access to a telephone all school day, I am dubious about that. A suppose a special education teacher or school psychologist would have insights to provide on that.
Cellular telephones in the possession of the children at school is also sometimes thought to be necessary for parent to child communications and for emergency contacts but I think that is baloney. Parents or students should be able to communicate via the school office and the teacher likely has a telephone on her or his desk in the classroom.
I would think that the cellular telephones would be highly distracting to learning for many children. Many adults seem to be obsessed by them, even tripping by looking at their telephone while walking instead of paying attention when they walk. Then some drive while they are tending to their telephones in some way.
Of course, there are many other distractions besides the telephones.
Being disrespectful to a teacher in the way you mention is over the top and wrong.

The past two nights the temps have dropped down to 50F. Tonight it is expected to drop down to 40F. Some of the trees are showing hints of changing colors. When the colors peak, we typically take a drive down Spearfish Canyon. The road follows Spearfish Creek and has such a wonderful display of Fall colors, it is famous. I would love to get some of our photographers up here for that!
The creek got its name when the white settlers first came to this area. The creek was so full of fish that the Natives used spears to go fishing. It is still famous for great fishing. Our weather has been fairly dry for a long time. I am hopeful that the creek is flowing nicely. I want to get some pictures of Roughlock Falls, but they aren't as spectacular if the water is just trickling over them.

This morning, I made a post about receiving a system-generated email at work with my deadname, and asking my manager to try and get it resolved -- https://www.susans.org/index.php/topic,203168.msg2282535.html#msg2282535
I just received a note from my manager. He worked with the group where the message was generated, and they discovered the issue is related to a file owned by our security group. The two groups are now working on a resolution, they want to make sure this never happens again to me or anyone else at the company. We have over 60,000 employees, and they still hear the voice of one.

Was able to help an old lady for a couple of hours this morning.
She had a bunch of leaves, walnuts, acorns, and sticks in her yard.
I was able to get a lot of it in her trash tote and more in some thick plastic bags for disposal. Another volunteer will come over this weekend to do some inside cleaning and put the trash tote (and take the two bags away) on the street for her Monday morning trash pickup.
She said I was pretty strong for a woman and had the energy she wish she still had.
I said I was not really strong and that all this took was a lot of bending down, raking, and busting up the larger sticks.

I boxed up this week T shirts and sweaters took them the a mission. They were all in excellent or new condition, all are female clothes that I feel compelled to share because there have been lots of people hit hard by flooding and they have lost everything, and women's shelters need the clothes too.
I wonder if any clothes will make their way to Florida or Appalachia.

Got my favorite deer hunting rifle back from the gunsmith. Was having trigger problems with it and he fixed it which I did pay him on the spot. I am one of his good customers, I pay him on the spot with no complaints with the bill.
@NikkiM
Dear Nikki: Finding a good gunsmith up here in Alaska is quite easy. Most everyone that I know that lives in the many little small remote towns like myself have a variety of firearms....
....handguns and long guns.
Hand guns I have are a Smith&Wesson 38 Snubnose, Ruger .357 Magnum, S&W 9mm Semi, and a S&W .44 magnum.
For rifles, I have several ... a 30-30 lever action, a 270 (one of my favorites), and the ubiquitous .30-06
.... and of course a "scatter gun"... 12 gauge Remington

So some of you may know I'm in Las Vegas for work for a couple of days. Today when I finished up work I went to my hotel rooms and changed. I put on a pair very very skinny jeans, a nice top and I headed out to the strip. I was on one of the pedestrian causeway crossing the strip and saw a group of older women trying to take a group "selfie". One of them was holding out the phone while the outer crowed behind her as she was trying to get a picture with the New York, New York casino behind them. Five of them and I'd guess they were in the 40-60 year age range.
I offered to take the picture for them and the gal with the phone handed it to me. Right then, one of the other women came forward and said she wanted to give me a hug. She then asked if she could give me a hug. It really caught me off guard but I thought what the hell? We had a nice hug on the causeway and I took several pictures of the group of women and went on my way.
I'm not sure what inspired her to want to hug me but I'm glad she did. I felt pretty good as I continued on my way.

I saw two bluejays sitting together in a tree. The bright blue feathers were beautiful. I was surprised to see them together. Jays are very aggressive birds and these were both males. No fighting. But they were too camera-shy to get a picture. Eventually, they flew off to another tree... and started fighting.
Boys will be boys.
Meeting very special people. That always makes me happy. Seems to always happen through this site. It's like an awesome magnet. People you would not ever have got the chance to get to know otherwise. But your life is infinitely better because you have.
Lucky to be alive, Husband took me to the ER on Monday night. Saw I was not feeling well and had bad chest pains. Found out I had to have 3 stents put in which was done on Tuesday. Came home today recovering well. I was not the only one in my family that had the same problem. My oldest brother too, his was a bypass and he is going to work on quitting smoking. Doctor was on his butt on the smoking
I was able to help an old lady at the food supermarket yesterday. She said her vision was bad and asked me if the package she had was what she wanted. I said no, then looked in the area for the item she wanted and found it. She was happy so that made me happy too.

My thoughts are clearer today that yesterday. I am new to finding myself. My first step was to discover that my brain's gender is female. Things are started to come together. As the sun warms me sitting at the computer typing this my insides feel warm with thoughts of using a prefix of Ms on my name.... Silly little things can be great things.

Hi Everyone What made me happy was not just replying to a member on Susan's, going for a swim in the afternoon or have an evening meal with my brother and his wife. It was a memory brought on by a posting by Louis, where she says and I quote:

Before I changed my life around and I had to fill in a form I would hover over the gender box marked female for a while, saying to myself I wanted to check that box, never asking myself why? However, realisation settled in and reluctantly I would check the other box with a heavy sigh of relief.
Finally when I changed my life around and I had to fill in any form, there was never any hesitation on my part as to which title or gender box I would tick or fill in. Now these days when I fill in any form occasionally I will have a smile from ear to ear. Now that's satisfaction.
Yes Louis, "Silly little things can be great things."

I have dealt with the irate customers, one was with a lady that had her car towed for no registration and plates ordered by the cops. Was a traffic stop. Wanted it back not showing insurance and went after the owner's wife. I grabbed her from the back and a co worker opened the door so I could throw her out. Threw her out and his wife was glad I was there. She came back going after me with a pipe and got a surprise. I was armed with my Kimber .45 and pulled it on her. Luckily I showed the cop that I have a concealed weapons permit and saw I was in the right protecting myself. She went to jail charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Now my co workers and husband say I am like this woman in this glock commercial with the late R Le Ermey in it

Just watched "The First Omen" movie for Halloween with my GF. It is a good movie. Clearly influenced by one of my favourite TV shows right now, "Servant". Has the same lead actress, playing basically the same role. Very good, very creepy movie. There's something about religious horror, and nuns especially, that elevate it somehow. ;D
Winning best Halloween costume twice yesterday. One was at work and at party my husband's friend had last night. I was dressed as Liv Moore, the tv show character on I Zombie. Students got me to go to work dressed in a Halloween costume
On the first of each month, I do a weight and measures check. I also do it on days when I have labs drawn. That helps me record my progress and correlate that to my hormone levels.
Since switching to injectable estradiol in August, my hormone levels have been spot on target.
Since August 1st, my weight has not changed, not even by one pound.
My bustline has increased by one inch (0.5 inch since Oct 1).
My underbust and waist have remained unchanged since August 1.
My hips have gained one inch since August 1 (0.5 inch since Oct 1).
Can you spell F A T R E D I S T R I B U T I O N ?
Since my hormone levels have been all over the place for the past four years, with gains mostly associated with weight gain, and reductions with weight loss, I am convinced that maintaining the proper hormone levels consistently over time is crucial. Progesterone taken three times a day and not once at night is also critical.
But anyway... HAPPY DANCE! :eusa_dance: :icon_dance: :icon_geekdance: :icon_joy:

My mom and I having mom and daughter time together today.Thinking about doing some shopping. My mom says I am a much better and happier person since I transitioned to this day which is true
Quote from: ChrissyRyan on October 12, 2024, 11:36:48 AMWas able to help an old lady for a couple of hours this morning.
Chrissy
I went back and did more raking to help her out. Many more leaves fell.

Mom and I had our time together doing a little shopping and our nails done. I bought a couple new dresses, a halter top and a strapless version. Mom bought herself a new dress as well. The nail salon we went to, they were friendly to us. Plus one customer's 10 year old daughter and I got a picture taken together by her mom. Found out this girl is transgender and told her I am a transsexual that has been through what she has been through. Thought it was cool and it made her day, Mom was glad to see this
My sweetie liked my recently acquired floral skirt I wore last evening. I know, that is not a big deal but it feels good that she thinks that way and she let me know. She is so nice.
After dinner last night we went to her place and she provided a delicious dessert. She also thought that the nightgown she gave me last month looked nice on me last night.
So I am a happy thinking about all of that.

Reading about happy things that happened to other members made me feel happy.
A great weekend that went well. First, did tag a deer Friday afternoon going out deer hunting. Got another one this morning and my husband is glad we have venison that will be going in the freezer. I did also judge a local pageant for transgender women Friday and Saturday night which went well. Seen a young lady whom was like me win it and her parents were happy to see her win. Said she went through a lot in her life like mine went through getting a picture taken with them. Her name is Leah, a 23 year old pre op mtf transsexual which she did decide not to have the GRS. Her boyfriend was there for support as well whom loves and accepts her, told her congratulations

Having a fellow transgender student come forward me for advice, she is a pre op mtf transsexual and asked me about the GRS which will be discussed with her in January. Her dad is forcing her to have it and mom is letting her make the decision with her support. She turns 18 on the 24th and wanted my advice which I gave her weighing it out. I told her that her dad does not realize it is her body and choice, not his choice to make
I hope everyone has a good week ahead!

Had a fun time with a couple nieces of mine on Saturday, got our nails done together. They love doing this with me. Looking towards to getting a new hairstyle, a bob cut and also doing something good. I am donating the cut off hair to a good friend of mine, she makes wigs for girls that are going through cancer treatments or have alopecia. She is going to be there to collect it
I cut mine back in 2000. I mailed a twelve-inch-long ponytail to Locks of Love. They do the same thing for kids with alopecia or undergoing chemotherapy.
A couple of weeks later, they sent me a postcard saying thank you. It was adorable because it looked like a kid had written it and doodled on it, but it was a printed card. I still have it somewhere.
I think donating hair is a great thing. Thank you for that.

Getting in touch with a friend from Ireland last night. I have known her since 1995 coming over as an exchange student, her name is Lisa and asked me if I wanted to come over to visit for a week in June of next year. Luckily he is going with me to Ireland in June of next year and found a place that does those. Going to schedule this next month ahead of time

We had a nice business lunch today. We talked about accomplishments for the year and some of our plans for 2025. It was all just talking with each besides for that and of course a very nice meal too.
We can simply check in the rest of the week but no more serious work until next week unless something of a surprise comes up. I am glad we all get along well and work well together.
We all had a very nice time.

Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources. You do not have to be financially rich to be generous. In fact, often those with less resources give far more than the wealthy, that has been recognized in the Bible and in practice.
Donate some time to a women's shelter or a mission. Honor the Lord by serving in a ministry or spreading the Gospel if you are a Christ believer. Visit the elderly. Mentor a young person. There is lot you may be able to do.
Plus you may have been accumulating things. Perhaps there are others that could use what you truly no longer need.
Help make the new year brighter for those that need to see some sunshine. You can do it.
See how you may be able to help others, it may not cost you a dime.
Now, go make it so.

Last year I started donating two (2) items of clothing each time I acquired a new item.
At first, clothing given were the items that were a bit worn or not fitting well. Plus I simply cleared out a lot of clothes on top of that. Recently I have been thinning my closets by giving to shelters and missions some items that look almost new and fit nicely.
Not only do I gain more closet space I can practice an anti-accumulation mindset, as many of us buy and then keep too much of things for whatever reason. Such as household goods. If they can be of help to someone who has not been able to afford such items, all the better. Maybe some get sold in their thrift shops, some get to ladies who need the clothing.
Many people say they get rid of a lot of accumulated stuff each time they move. But I say to myself, "Why wait?"
On top of that I wonder how many new tops and bottoms are really needed and think twice before buying. Yet I treat myself sometimes, and I think that is okay if done sensibly. Pretty clothes help me look better.

Yesterday I went for my second meeting with a (trans) counsellor. I had been looking forward to it, but when it came time for the appointment, I became very scared and almost defensive.
the counsellor helped me figure out my "protector" has been working overtime to push down my true self feelings over fear of being called out. In other words, my transphobia was working overtime.
Now that I know my protector/guardian angel, I can work with her and incorporate the best parts of myself. It was a very liberating feeling, and yet another step along this path of life.
Teresa,
This sounds positive for you. Good to hear!

My relationship with my son has been better lately. We have not been speaking for a long time until in November. He has learned that I live a happy life now as my true self now is one thing. I am the same person as well with a better life. We have buried the hatchet putting the past behind us.We spent time together today, his 28th birthday and did get him a card. My ex was with us too, she took a picture of us together. She is glad he has come to terms about everything too and calls me Nikki now

Did decide to transition and has been on the HRT since November. I like crows. They are really smart. I think that they sometimes really try to talk to us. Some crows near where I used to live used to follow my mother's Yorkshire terrier when I was walking it. It may have been because we disturbed insects or worms and I once saw them following another dog that was wandering alone. They never followed my when I was alone, though. When the dog was at the vet and I was walking past the field where we walked, a crow did walk up close to me and started cawing at me. I think it was upset that I didn't have the dog with me or perhaps it was inquiring after its friend. A woman who was walking behind me with a friend commented "Now even the crows are telling us off!"
Where I live now, a crow had a nest in a nearby tree and it would caw at me when I opened my front door. I repled by saying "Good Morning". One morning, the crow sat on the gate and cawed "rrrreeeed morrrrrr" over and over again. I am not sure whether it was trying to say "good morning". It occurred to me that it might after all be a raven trying to say "nevermore".
I will try to read more, though.
I am a happy woman.
Big smile here!
I am grateful.

I have a battery-powered lawn mower. The 'self-propelled' portion failed over the summer, and it became very difficult to push. A week ago, I discovered the mower was recently recalled due to a potential fire hazard, and my mower was included. If all goes well, I'll be getting a new mower within the next few weeks, for free!

That made me smile but also made me happy today because it jogged my memory.
When my family lived in England when I was a child, except for a few months during which she used a push mower that my father got her, my mother would cut the lawn with garden shears. On at least one occasion, she gave me a pair of scissors so that I could help.
She only did it to make me feel useful but I still find it useful when people start swapping "In my day ..." stories.
Dropped off at lunchtime some kitchen pots and pans, clothes, blankets, etc. to a shelter mission.

Seeing my dad after I got back from work, I have been dealing with his Alzheimer's very well knowing he has been living a long happy life and I still have to tell him who I am at times. Finding out my oldest brother is doing well with his quitting his bad habit, smoking and has noticed he is saving money doing it. I am his encouragement with him doing this.
So on the back of several comments that I can't seem to find anymore, I bought, and read "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".
And I am officially a fan. I can see how it influenced people like Terry Pratchett and Tom Holt. The sheer word magic is something else. And I can see why any sort of visual media doesn't do justice to what the book can do. You can't create a better image than what the reader can create in their own head. And some of the linguistic quirks are just magical. Sorry it took me this long, Sarah. <3
Is kind of like Red Dwarf. The TV show is very different to the books. When you don't have that visual medium for people to laugh at, you go with word play. I had a bunch of the books when I was laid up in the Navy and they were a godsend. I do love the TV show though, but that's more of a Brit thing. It's what the show "Men Behaving Badly" was probably influenced by.
Thank heavens for people who still know humour. :)

Yeah, see that's kind of funny because I used to play Elite Dangerous, a space sim game. A British originated space sim game. And when they used to run beta tests for patches, especially to do with engineering... lol this will probably be all over your head. Sarah might get it though... the engineers all needed Fish to test the latest modifications. That's where it came from. Instead of actual components, all the engineers just wanted Fish. That's why.
I never understood that till now, lol.

[1] Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Sarah... you need to go read "Snow White and the Seven Samurai" by Tom Holt. I think you might like it. ;)
Hi Everyone As Sephirah alludes to Sarah, yes she understands what is going on. I remember a long time ago reading about
"Fish" in the code. In addition I also played Elite Dangerous. A more detailed explanation I think is needed so that others can follow the significance of the connection.
The phrase
"So long, and thanks for all the fish" originates from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. In the first book, it is a humorous farewell left by the dolphins before the Earth was destroyed by the Vogans, while in the fourth book,
"So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish", it becomes a central theme, symbolizing departure before disaster.
Elite Dangerous, is a space simulation game developed by the British, the term
"Fish" has a unique history tied to beta testing. During updates, particularly those affecting engineering mechanics in the game, developers at Frontier Developments replaced the usual rare upgrade materials with
"Fish" as a universal placeholder in the code. This streamlined testing while adding an element of absurd humour, why would spaceship engineers require
"Fish" for high tech modifications?
This decision was likely influenced by the game's British roots and the well known Hitchhiker's Guide reference. Over time,
"Fish" became an inside joke within the community and even made its way into some aspects of the game . For those unfamiliar with its origin, seeing
"Fish" in the code might seem odd, but its presence reflects both a practical solution and a nod to classic British sci fi humour.
Talking about these two subjects will always make me happy.
Best Wishes AlwaysSarah BGlobal Moderator@Sephirah @Lori Dee
Haha I knew you'd get it. I didn't until the last week or so. :P

@Sarah B completely off topic but.. what was your favourite ship in Elite Dangerous? Will tell me a lot about you. :)
I will go out on a limb and say it was the Asp Explorer.
Hi Sephirah Unfortunately, I did not have a favourite ship, I just picked the ones that I could afford, that were agile, fast and packed a punch. I did enjoy exploring the galaxy. I had two accounts as well.

Beta Testing, as in Betta, aka Siamese Fighting Fish.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siamese_fighting_fish
The reminscences about Hitchhiker made me happy and the info about the Fish connection in Elite Dangerous (which I've never played) is interesting.
My first contact with the book was through listening to tapes of the BBC serial that preceded it. They helped me to sleep without nightmares.
I'm still a big fan of Douglas Adams but he did annoy me at least once. In the Hitchhiker sequel Life, the Universe amd Everything, there is a phrase "the long, dark tea-time of the soul", which struck a chord with me and became my personal quotation. Adams ruined it for me by making it the title of one of his Dirk Gently novels.
I think that you may have more reading to do, Sephirah. It is, after all, a trilogy in four parts.

I don't play anymore, Sarah. I only did that to store ship builds. Because I am a massive nerd. It means a lot that you think so. I never did youtube for youtube. I don't care about any of that. I know the game has changed a lot since we played. I still can't get over you having a Warthog. That was like the pinnacle of ED gaming! Just when I think I can't respect you more... :D O7, Cmdr.
I am still going to go with you as an AspX girl.
Very good value for money.

For all you peeps who have literally no idea what me and Sarah are going on about. Don't even worry about it. ;D
I stopped a student getting bullied this morning and took the student that bullied them to the principal's office. Found out that student that got bullied is transgender and she thanked me telling her I am transgender as well, a pre op MTF transsexual.
I thinking school bullying is wrong and evil.

It is and found out mom came up to thank me as well for saving her. This student and I talked and now knows she has someone that is like her. Her mom says I am a positive role model for her now. The student that bullied her, got a 10 day out of school suspension and their parents were not happy him at all. They are strict and have a punishment for him, scoop out the horse poop in the stables for a week and write up an apology letter that means something handing it to her. They have horses
Good to hear that something helpful may be done about this to help prevent it from happening again.

The parents of the young man that did it are showing there are consequences for making a bad choice made and I appraise them for this. A slap on the wrist saying do not do it again is not enough
Happy Pi Day!
Many pizza places and other places are providing discounts today.

The trees are starting to bud.
A sure sign that soon we will be complaining about boob sweat.
Bring it on!
Got a free copy of a friend's photo book Riders of the North. I'm on page 24!
Girl's Night out with my good friends Ashley and Nicole whom are like me tonight. We grew up knowing each other since we were 5 year old boys and felt the same way knowing we should of been born girls. Came out and transitioned together at the same time and they decided not to have the GRS too. Lots of good memories even keeping in touch when I was an exchange student in Ireland
Have a nice weekend everyone!

ChrissyRyan made me happy today!
Today is my daughter's birthday. The most vivid memory I have is the doctor lifting my daughter from my wife's womb via c-section.
Happy Birthday to her! 🎂💕🎊🎉🎉🎉🤗🎉🎉🎉🎊💕🎂
The other thing that made me happy today was realizing my pronouns were changed to he/her on my profile. The first time I logged in to Susan's Place, I had never thought about my pronouns. For 73 years I've been he/him. For the past week or so, I've been ruminating on pronouns. Especially mine. Thanks Danielle or Lori or whoever it was who made the change to my profile. It meant a lot to me.

That was our awesome Administrator, Danielle. She's a rock star. ;D

Yeah she is a cut above. And I've seen a few. :)
Girl's night out went great with my friends Ashley and Nicole last night. We had a couple guys check us out and said there was something about us when we talked to them. Each told them we are pre op TS MTF and we were surprised that they took it well and one gave my friend Ashley his phone number. Both were nice guys treating us well and Ashley came out happy. Found out this afternoon they are going on a date on Monday. Ashley, she did have a dirtbag ex husband that wanted her to have the GRS and had enough divorcing him in November. I see her much happier, he supports her decision not to have the GRS knowing it is her choice and body. Nicole and I are married to great guys that love and support us
Mhm, but you didn't talk about Nikki. What is going on with you, sweetie?

Going well and had time with my son from a previous relationship which has been going well. He is now in my life for good and has come to terms fully that I live a happy life now. My ex is proud of him as well
That's awesome. You deserve it. <3

Good!
In 1975 a friend took a photo of me looking at myself in a mirror. You could see the back of me and my reflection of my front in the mirror.I d just returned from a ride on my motorcycle &was wearing a lether jacket boots denim jeans.
I got a copy of the photo long since lost and tried to draw it. I was useless at art so it never got finished. I imagined that my reflection would be of any older woman. It would have been near impossible to transition as a 17 year old.I hoped that one day I could transition. I did in 1991.
I checked out my reflection before going out for the bus to the shops.I saw her just how I imagined i would look 50 years ago. Smartly but casually dressed in jeans black Chelsea boots a purple long sleeve V neck top and silver and white hair in a French twist. No makeup small pearl earrings and a silver Crucifix.
It was sort of like a cross between the Twilight Zone and a warm feeling. Sorry Ive gone on too long but this is the only way I can explain it!
Meeting up with old friends this afternoon for a nice meal and a long chat
I did not have to travel last evening for business because of a postponement.
There is a drawback, I need to plan my workweek a bit differently now. I do not mind though at all doing that.
Having a great week so far, did not send a student to the principal's office this week. Was glad to get honored on Monday due to being international transgender day of visibility, a co worker gave me a new transgender pride flag and thought it was cool for her to give it to me
Nikki,
That is nice to hear.

The sun came out today and this morning, I heard meadowlarks singing.

Don't be sorry, Kim. That is really awesome. I am super happy for you! Smiling when you see yourself is something everyone takes for granted, until you don't. And it's those small things that make it all worth it.

Chrissy, you are a national treasure. <3
Seeing a couple students of mine today, seen them at the store and both were with their dad. Both are good students in my class treating me with respect and they do their work turning it in on time.
All of you made me happy today.
A big fat green frog in my friends pond and lots of frogspawn. Haven't seen a frog for a long time
Kindness shown by some folks.
I found a story I was looking for. I also read another good part of a story.
Watching lots of tiny bats flying past my window at dusk.

When I was a kid in the desert, they would come out just as the streetlights came on. We would throw a Frisbee toward them and they would follow it for a short distance.
I had to run some errands this morning. At one of my stops, my favorite cashier was back. I hadn't seen her in a few weeks. It turns out she changed shifts to pick up some extra hours. She is an older lady and loves to have fun with her hair, sometimes pink, sometimes blue, or whatever. Today she was back to mahogany but she was wearing a t-shirt that read:
"Diversity is our strength, not a weakness."
She is just awesome. :)
Ashley called me 'sister' today.
Being with my dad although I had to remind whom I was with his Alzheimer's. Finding out he has a heart issue and sees the specialist for that tomorrow. I know well with him at now 74,doctors do not want to take a chance with him on the operating table. Something may go wrong and he could go
Seeing one of my students happy this morning. Went with him and his mom clothes shopping for his female side. Has Asperger's Syndrome and he came out as a crossdresser 2 weeks ago. Luckily his mom was aware with LGBTQ issues with Autism and Asperger's doing her research. Also supportive too and she loves him no matter what. His mom is glad I am there for support as well, I give back by helping the LGBTQ youth in my spare time. Was happy with the purchases they made and did get his ears pierced as well. Good kid whom that does good in my class turning in his work on time

You are more than sister, Annika. You are a kindred spirit. And I want to thank you for your trust. To see your magical smile. A lot of people are scared to show themselves because a lifetime of hurt or uncertainty has creeped in. You are all genuinely beautiful.
This will be very weird but... I am into some weird stuff. This girl is like... incredible. I can't eat more than a meal every couple of days, but this girl just packs it away, and is so affable... she makes me happy, lol. I've been binge watching her content.

A couple of hours at the beauty parlour. Eyebrows waxed and clear gel nails.Hairdressers tomorrow for a micro trim wash and blow dry.
It's a hard life being retired!
I bring my wife coffee in bed every morning and get a kiss from her. She was especially sleepy this morning but gave me a kiss. I crawled back into bed and after several minutes she looked over at me and said "April, I'll take my kisses now. I'm awake." I reminded her that she'd already kissed me but was obviously still half asleep. She responded with "Can't I have more?" Of course, I obliged.
A friend is recovering from yesterday's surgery.
I made her some food and took it over today at lunchtime so she would have more food to eat.
Today was preparation day for my Motus AY Laser Hair Removal Treatment appointment tomorrow. Finally shaved my chest and arms. Tomorrow I get laser hair removal on my face, neck, chest, and arms. I am so excited.

Best of luck with your appointment tomorrow!

Try to show appreciation each day for what someone does.
Try to show appreciation each day for who someone is, her or his character, industriousness, and so on.
Try to be thankful each day for what you have.
This all makes life better and you likely will be happier.

That is good news! You are such a sweetheart, Chrissy.
Was at a coffeehouse earlier this morning. A lady I did not know told me that she really liked my pantsuit. She said it made me look like top management. Not a big deal, I know, but nice to hear. We were in line.

I can run for a bus and catch it! Not bad for 67, last year I could hardly walk a few yards without getting out of breath
