Are there any smells that bring back pleasant memories?
One smell that I enjoy (definitely not as a perfume) is creosote - the smell of old railroad ties and bridge timbers. My grandmother lived in a rural area of Mississippi, with dirt roads, an outhouse, and a party line. There was a creek nearby where I fished for many summers. The bridge was made with creosote soaked timbers. That smell will forever remind me of the time I spent with my grandma.

Cool thread, Jess. Both gasoline and cigarette smoke remind me of my beloved grandfather, so I enjoy them both.
The smell of an old time workshop, oil ,grease and wood. My granddads workshop and when I started work.
