Title: What does a red leather jacket symbolize?
Post by: marymillerfp on June 01, 2024, 08:43:46 AM
A red leather jacket can be a powerful symbol of confidence, and individuality, especially within the transgender community. It represents breaking free from societal norms and embracing one's true self with boldness. For many trans women, wearing a red leather jacket is not just a fashion statement but a declaration of pride and empowerment. It says, "I am here, and I am proud of who I am."

I happen to have a red blazer.  I wear it because of fashion.  I also have other colored blazers or jackets or coats.

Hello marymillerfp

My name is Sarah B and I would also like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!

I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.

You mentioned about red leather jackets in your post and I'm intrigued that red leather jackets are related to the 'transgender' community in someway.  You said;

I did a search on the web and the only came up with was red jackets for sale.  So could you please provide a link that shows that red leather jackets are "powerful symbol of confidence, and individuality, especially within the transgender community"?

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely will discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.

Take care and all the best for the future.

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Hmmm, I have a red leather bolero jacket..   I wear it because i think it looks cute with a dress... Knowing now that it represents breaking of societal norms makes me wary of going out in it ever again, I am certainly no rule breaker and would not like to be thought of one.. I wonder if Primark know about this?? (that's where I bought my jacket)..  Or maybe, its just total trash..  if you want to tell the world about what you believe in then maybe a pin badge would be at least a better start than a very common piece of clothing? Just my 2c..
