Title: Practice paid off
Post by: Alana Ashleigh on June 18, 2024, 12:34:47 PM
The last two days, I've noticed my hips sway when I walk w/o me having to consciously think about it. I used to have to consciously remember to sway hips when I walked. Having a feminine walk is something I've always wanted, and I finally got it. 😁

Hi Alana - Sounds good! I'm still working on it and have to remember - although when I do it flows better now, and it really feels great!  :D

If you remember to lean back a little on your heels when you walk, stand straight, and keep your elbows at your side as you swing your arms, it almost happens automatically. It takes practice to make it a habit. I try to imagine that I am not walking but gliding softly over the ground. Just go with the flow.

And good job, Alana!

It's the best feeling in the world. It feels so affirming.

Yes I was going to ask for pointers

Only thing I really found on the Internet was this step by step how to which was apart of a 40 week program to become more feminine. Here is the link

https://pinkfemme.com/how-to-feminize-your-walk/

The only time I feel like I'm walking more feminine is when I walk and place one foot right in front of the other like walking a tight rope, and I can feel and engage my glutes as I walk, keeping my posture and shoulders back but relaxed is always a constant thing I have to focus on, and keeping my elbows at my side is hard since I am very wide, almost have to force them at my side which I feel looks natural for my size frame. One thing I did notice is that arm swing and keeping your wrists turn so your palm is facing forward I feel helps with my arm position for walking. And the article says to lead from the thigh, not from your feet.

Wish I could find a simple easy how to step by step to feminine walking, and not a I. A super model walk for walking the cat walk. Lol

There is a kinesiologist who did a couple of YouTube videos. Try searching for male vs female walking. That's how I found it. I don't have the link anymore or remember the guy's name.

Yes, I find one foot right in front of the other gets that easy hip sway going and feeling the balls of the feet...keeping the elbows at the side and palms facing out also feels feminine.
