I'm not very good at introductions, but hi, I'm Igor. I'm looking for a place to talk about things.
It's difficult to talk about things in real life, and I can't talk about it with anyone I know in my life. They wouldn't understand it, and probably wouldn't accept it either. I'm twenty eight years old and ever since I was young, I've felt like I was different. I've always played with male things and taken on traditionally masculine roles in everything. I have a masculine energy, and I am naturally quite androgynous looking.
I'm comfortable with wearing masculine clothes, and presenting more masculine. Especially online, but I have been in the closet for a long time, in terms of wanting to medically transition. I would like to do it someday, but I still live at home with deeply religious parents. I, too am religious to an extent (not in the way they are), but something about me being "feminine/female" feels off.
medical history?
When I was younger, I didn't get my periods properly. They would only come 1-3 times a year. I was incredibly aggressive and a loner. I didn't take an interest in anything feminine, and I never have. I am also quite hairy, especially on my legs. In recent years, I have started to grow thicker hair on my stomach and around my lip area. My periods are still janky, though they came back more frequent when I lost weight (which I have since put back on again).
I have had no interest in having kids, and I am not a maternal person. I don't act like any of the females that I know. I've been misgendered several times before, and have never corrected anyone. I cut my hair short, and am happier. I'm happier just existing as I am, and being as masculine as I can be.
I plan to move out of my house (I live at home) when I can afford to do so. Until then, I have to keep it on the low about transitioning medically. Until then (and beyond), I hope that I can have this community to confide in.
And I'm sorry if things came across a bit robotic, and if this introduction was long winded but here I am. Just posting this here has put a tremendous weight off my shoulders.
Hello IgorMy name is
Sarah B and I would like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!
Your introduction was very good and it was not long winded. I have seen the extremes of very short and long ones.
Susan' is the place where you can come and talk about issues that pertain to the 'transgender community', however remember that what you say here is in the public arena and anyone can read it, so please only post what you are willing to share.
Susan's is the only place where I interact with the 'community', otherwise nobody knows except of course my family. I never told my family or friends either and I left them all behind. Long story short my family found out and they totally accept me.
There is nothing wrong in doing masculine things. I have a friend, who's daughter is very feminine and she is doing an apprenticeship as a welder, boiler maker. Yeah I know, unbelievable. Just remember to do the things that you like or love to do, because in the long run they will make you happy.
In a sense I'm still in the closet, so there is nothing wrong in that. Given the conditions at home and you wanting to medically transition then moving out sounds like a good idea. However one must be able to support oneself. I would also suggest given your circumstances at home that you ensure that your privacy is maintained by having password security on your electronic devices.
Your 'Gender Identity' is separate from your religious beliefs and don't let it interfere with your beliefs.
There is an area for FTM forum where you can talk with others of like minded people and how you go about your transition if you so desire medically and or surgically can be discussed there. Susan's is a place where you can confide in and be yourself.
Seeking a 'therapist' that specializes in 'gender issues' and practices 'informed consent', would allow you to get HRT if you so wish and be very beneficial in allowing you to move forwarded in your life.
Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the
Introductions Forum (https://www.susans.org/index.php/board,8.0.html), of course and other threads and forums I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members
In addition members of Susan's will more than likely will discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these as well.
