Do you like to eat eel, octopus, or squid?
I saw some eels, about a foot or so long, swimming in a small tank at a grocery store. I felt sorry for them. They had so little room to move, then someone would be eating them soon.

Very much, occasionally, occasionally
I love eel in sushi if done well. It's deliciously.
I enjoy octopus too, except when it's chewy which is often is... so I normally will steer clear unless convinced.
Squid? Well, hard to pass up a good calamari — but again, not if it's the consistency of rubber bands!
By the way, there is something called eel sauce in Japanese food. There is NO eel in it. It's just served traditionally on eel. It's basically soy (with mirin, sake and some sweetener).

I am glad you like fish and seafood! I like salmon and tuna, shrimp, crab, lobster, and some freshwater fish.

I like it all -- except for shrimp and lobster, to which I am allergic!

I like all of them. Here in S. Korea, various recipes are available, including live ones.

Ooo I think I would skip the live ones. Reminds me of some food scenes in movies, although the filmmakers faked it realistically. Even for non-live foods. Monkey brains, etc.
When I lived in California, I spent weekends shark fishing and used squid for bait. It would sit out in the hot sun and get... ripe. Now I can't stand the smell of it.
Tried octopus once. Nope.
Never tried eel. Not interested. No, thank you.
Abalone was not very tasty to me!
That have pretty polished shells though.

Are you a sushi gal? Eel (unagi) is a featured item in some places, depending on access to fresh, high quality product.
I won't eat it everywhere, but when done well it really is delicious!!!
And mind you... like 3-4 years ago, I had ZERO interest in sushi AT ALL. It was just for my wife and son. And then I finally said "ok... lemme try it" and BOOM, my world opened up! Food is fun that way!

Many people in North America and Europe enjoy live oysters.

Never been a fan. I tried it a couple of times, tuna, salmon, and another I can't recall. I'm not much of a fish eater. As a kid, we went fishing all the time, so trout, catfish, and bass were staples at home.
After starting to go saltwater fishing, I left that behind. Saltwater fish put up a fight like no other and I was the one hooked. Another couple would go with us and camp out on the pier from Friday night until Sunday morning. We would fill our coolers with sharks.
But with the waters so polluted and finding too many fish with parasites, I decided to stick with crab and shrimp, but only rarely. I like lobster, but can only eat a few bites and quickly lose interest in it. Same with clams, but I do like a good chowder (without tomato ;D ).
Love eel with pie mash & liquor East End style. Always used to have it once a week when I lived in London, sadly my 2 favourite eel & mash shops are now gone. Last had it on my holiday in London in 2015 at Nathans round the corner from West Ham's old ground. Love salt & pepper squid rings but draw the line at octopus it looks so gross!

No. Eww. But... I think the only time I had calamari it wasn't cooked right. It was like eating rubber. Tasteless. I'm sure that was purely down to my own experience and if cooked properly it would be different... but honestly I've never felt the urge to try it again.

It would not eat those either. Even dead ones. But I am shy to try new things.

I was told that octopuses tastes rubbery.
I was also told that an octopus may eat another octopus.
Sometimes people say that a food tastes like cardboard but that puts an image in my mind of them eating cardboard and wondering why they would do that. LOL

It must be shredded. And topped with bacon.

I will skip the cardboard. But I will take the bacon, unshredded.
Chrissy
Everything tastes better with bacon. That's an immutable truth, lol. ;D
Bacon is good. Unsure about bacon scented candles. Those might be too much to deal with.
Might drive some of us bacon crazy.

Chrissy,
No!
I love your topics.

Some brave young college girls from the U.S. dared to eat live octopus when we had a conference here. They tried to eat them as a kind of challenge. Yes. It depends on personality.
