Title: Los Angeles visitor suggestions? (#3)
Post by: Carolina on August 24, 2024, 12:10:30 PM
Dear supportive sisters,

I'm an older, closeted CD and in late September I'm going to be  a visitor in the San Dimas/Covina area and able to open the door to my closet somewhat.  I expect that I'll be using The Metro quite a bit to wander about the LA area.

So where should I go?  As an older person, I need to sit now and then and I'm interested in the Natural History Museum and the Zoo, but not sure whether the Tar Pits would be worth the time.  I'm also thinking about visiting the Los Angeles County Museum of Art instead of The Getty - Any thoughts?  Or other "don't miss" suggestions?

I appreciate your caring support and I think I'm down to a final "tourist" question that I'll put in a new thread.  Love, Caroline.

I think you should visit the Museum of Natural History because it is very suitable for both traveling and learning about history.

I would go south to San Diego and see what is around there if you can get away from LA.

I did, there were some amazing things - The SR-71 trainer for instance.  And I was headed for the gem display (which was breathtaking) so I passed through the dinosaur exhibit.  Wow.  Had a good time.  (And thanks for the suggestion).

  Love Carolina.

I am planning to go camping with my family for the upcoming vacation. Do you know of any places that can suggest some spots for me?

As to your question about camping in the Los Angeles area, I always enjoyed Yosemite National Park and Big Bear Lake. But I have not been there in a very long time. Perhaps some of our other members will have suggestions.

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!
