Title: One thing that got to me, shoes
Post by: NikkiM on September 01, 2024, 02:15:04 PM
One thing that got to me during my transition and I still have is addiction to shoes. I am a shoeaholic and good thing is my husband does not complain about it at all. It was into my 5th month of my transition it all started with this. Started with high heels and boots then with the wedges and sandals. My good female friends taught me good too and now say I have more pairs then them. If I do not have it and like, purchase the pair. Only one that did complain about it was my mom, asked me if I had enough pairs of shoes and told her no. Two of my sister in laws, they were jealous at first I have more than them.

During the lockdown Cole Haan had a lot of great sales on high heels so I bought a lot during that time.

Foot was one of sexual symbols in ancient China. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foot_binding

I am not sure, but I also have been obsessed with shoes. Men's shoes are not so diverse in style and design, but women's have all kinds of creative designs. I especially love 12-cm (4.7 inch) high stiletto pumps.

I have dozens of stilettos, sandals, and pumps. Yesterday I ordered two pairs of flat sandals.

I read somewhere years ago a psychiatrist interview claiming shoes, and especially pumps, were for women unconsciously and symbolically a vagina (foot being the penis entering it)... :D  ???
It could explain why I'm a shoeaholic too, spending a lot in heels, boots, booties, probably having more pairs in my closets than my girlfriends, fashionistas included. Un fortunately still being in the closet with them. I even bought several pairs of women's trainers. I noticed becoming compulsive about buying feminine shoes during strong dysphoria episodes.

I read that the heels are the symbol of the penis. I guess long hair also could be the same symbol.

"A 17th-century law in Massachusetts announced that women would be subjected to the same treatment as witches if they lured men into marriage via the use of high-heeled shoes." Source (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-heeled_shoe)

Her: "Do you like my shoes?"
Him: "I do."

Officer: "Come with me Miss, you are under arrest."
