I opened up to a couple students of mine today. They wanted to know me more, are in a geometry class of mine and say I am a cool teacher. Good students as well whom actually treat me with respect and hand in their work on time. It was after school I opened up and did tell them I am trans, a pre op mtf transsexual. Both said that is cool and said they see me with a happy life now. I am glad they accepted it and were raised right not to judge anyone. Also see me like any normal person in life and this is me
That is so awesome. The younger generation gives me a lot of hope. I noticed earlier in my transition that it seems like the younger the person I am speaking with is, the more likely they are to acknowledge me as a woman and not a man. I remember buying a TV at Best Buy and the clerk who brought it out to my truck addressed me as mam- first time that ever happened. Happy tears.
Their parents were proud of them as well. They are going to learn about what I went through and show them my photobook of my transition photos sometime
Sounds like a good reaction to your openness.
