For what movies was the movie better than the book or play?  Or the other way around?

Why?

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The book by Ken Kesey was ten times better and was told from the Indian's point of view. I'm a big Jack Nicholson fan, and he played R.P. McMurphy superbly, but the movie was all about him. A big Difference.

Dune. I loved the book, but can't stay awake watching the movie.  :icon_sleep:

Hitchhikers's Guide to the Galaxy. Again, I loved the book. Douglas Adams has a writing style unlike any other. The movie did not do it justice.

Lord of the Rings. All of them, I had a tough time reading them. The movies brought these characters to life for me. Love the movies.
